Forum Rules and Guidelines
Here on the Club Polo Forum, we have a fairly laid back approach to moderating which we feel makes for a more enjoyable environment for our users.
However, with the ever increasing popularity of the forum, we have found it necessary to come up with a few rules and guidelines.
RULES - These rules are clear-cut, and breaking them
WILL result in immediate action.
NO ADVERTISING
Companies must not advertise goods or services anywhere on the site without prior consent.
If you wish to advertise on the site, please email advertising@clubpolo.co.uk to discuss the possibilities.
Offending posts will be removed on sight. Persistant offenders will be BANNED for spamming the site.
NO TIMEWASTERS IN THE FOR SALE SECTIONS
Negative comments in the for sale sections will now result in an IMMEDIATE BAN for the offending user.
If you have a genuine concern that an advert is misrepresentative then please contact a member of the admin staff.
We take our for sale sections very seriously, and it's important that you do too. They are not for general discussion.
ADMIN'S DECISION IS FINAL
If your thread or post is locked, edited, deleted or moved, you will usually be given a reason why.
This is not up for discussion and if further posts are made in protest, you will receive an IMMEDIATE BAN.
If you really feel hard done by, speak to a member of admin in private using the PM facility.
GUIDELINES - These guidelines are more subjective and only blatant or persistant offenders will be punished.
Use the search function
If you have a question, use the search function before posting to see if it's already been answered.
Not only will you get a quicker response, but you might also get a range of answers, and more detailed too.
Many people are reluctant to answer the same question once it's been asked time and time again.
Post in the right section
We have tried to categorise the forum in such a way that it should be obvious where to post your message.
However, if you make a mistake then a member of the admin team will move your thread to the correct location.
Don't just post in the busiest forum, and don't post the same message in multiple locations.
Read the guidelines for each forum
Many of the forums have their own guidelines written at the top which you should abide by.
These guidelines are included when you view a forum, a topic, or post a new message.
Don't SPAM the site
Don't post just for the sake of posting. If you've got nothing interesting to say then it's best to say nothing.
There's plenty of reading material on the forum, and who knows, you may be able to help somebody else out.
Remember, posts don't make prizes.
Don't use TXT talk
Apart from anything else, it's extremely annoying and difficult to read for anyone who isn't familiar with TXT.
We also have a number of foreign visitors (many of which speak very good english) and it really isn't fair on them.
You don't need to be perfect with spelling, punctuation and grammar. All we ask is that you make some effort.
Know your limits
We're all adults here, so we have very few taboos and we expect a bit of swearing and friendly banter within reason.
However, we have our limits and will not tolerate any serious verbal abuse, or anything likely to cause serious offence.
These rules and guidelines are likely to change at any time, so make sure you check back here regularly for any updates.
