Original door pin

Remove door pin, window winder (if youve got it!), and door handle cover, undo screws behind it, pull off door trim at bottom working round until all clips are off.

Original hole for pin.

Using a round file elongate hole as necessary.

New hole for pin.

Re-fit door card etc. in reverse order, admire new pin!

Looks good...could do with being flush when down like on the Golf mk4 to stop theives lifting the pin up.
Are the pin bezels off a 6n2?

p.s. any part numbers for the bits? Cheers.

You could make them flush if you trimmed the rods down, yeag the bezel and the pins are 6n2, and as for part numbers i will get them tommorow from work

If you haven't got central locking, like me, dont trim the metal rod then theres enough, but if you have, trim it to as low as you want

Do you have to take the door cards off to widen the hole for the pins?
What do you fix the rings down with?

These type of mods are my favorite simple, effective and utilize standard VW parts

Did this today and looks sweet but dont seem to have enough thread on the rod to trim down to make them flush, any ideas?
Also if you haven't done it yet the rings just clip in providing you dont file the hole too big
Definitely agree that these kinds of mods rule, what other ones are there for a 6n?

did a similar thing with my saloon. Pull the plastic piece out and file the front hole so its a bit bigger, will have to cut the lower surround bit off first tho. then a bit of glue just to keep it in place nicely...
