This sounds up my street, are the windows just fitted into the rubbers as the original OEM ones would have been? Obviously rear one is just bonded onto the hatch

Being 4mm thick they are about the same thicknedd as normal windows so they should fit straight into the rubbers. but i will be able to double check for you

this sounds good but I'm just a tad concerned about the security aspect of it all. What's flexyglass like for overall strength?

I posted a thread on a local track day asking if anyone had used P4P...got a PM asking about AE86 windows..if they do them + would additional orders for another type of window be beneficial to reducing costs for a Polo group buy?

Ok, so have had a mail back from paul, The group buy will be specifically for mk2 and mk3 polo's, all windows excluding the front windscreen, with options for either 1 piece or 2 piece front windows. with out vents these will be £170+vat but that is before any discount and Paul need a minimum 5 orders, but will get bigger discount for 10 orders.
With regards to other models, i wont be doing these on the group buy as i want to keep this as simple as possible, but paul is looking at setting a discount code on the webshop, but this will need more details workin out first.
As such i am now opening the list as will be looking to order asap, so get your names down for a full kit i will confirm total prices with paul once a have a few numbers to work with

Edit for the Q about weight, Paul recons they weigh about 50%of standard glass saving 10-15kgs depending on application, earlier vw have heavier glass

Vents are +£25 for drivers side and +£45 for both sides, i believe these are opperated from the inside so guess they are pretty secure

yeah thats right Tav, i guess you could add vents later, shouldn't think it would be too difficult. i need to check how the front ones fit to see if the 2 piece ones can be fitted and opperated the same as standard, i.e. would down

Would also like to know about retaining original rubber seals...especially on the rear side windows and general info. about fitting.
Rear window seals (run a long the bottom of the window on the tail gate, 6mm wide) are obsolete from VW. Sure they'll be easy to replace though.

how much just for 1pc front windows? wont need a kit as i'm square!
also, how are they fitted? was gonna make some myself and just bond them in place, do these need to be in the original seals?
pics would be a massive help.

i know for a fact that the 2 piece windows wont wind down due to the design, this is the reason u have the window sliders fitted, for ventilation and to converse with anyone outside the car without having to open the door each time. not sure on the one piece but i imagine its the same and i'd imagine it would scratch quite easily winding it up and down after a while.
