Hi everyone this is my first post so go easy on me lol. i seen this post and it catched my eye : http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=495

Interested in getting my chip mapped. What does it involve exactly? I understand I will have to removed the chip and send it to you guys, but where is it?

I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to engine modifying but want to learn. How do i remove the chip? How do i get the codes required? How much does it cost and what sort of BHP increase am i likely to see?

If it helps I'm running 17" wheels , i will try get a picture up of my car soon.

I will need you to post me your ECU, I will then un-solder your original eprom (chip) and fit a socket and the new eprom with the modified code which will give you an increase in power and drivability.

You will need a 10mm socket to remove the ECU it is located underneath the black plastic scuttle panel just below the windscreen on the passenger side. When you remove the cover you should be able to get the numbers from it then.

I will then confirm if I can do the ECu on a same day service if you visit me or if I will need it for 2-3days while I get new code for your ECU.

Price for the MK4 is only £120 inc fitting. any postal cost are extra.

With 17" you willneed all the extra power you can get as they will reduce your acceleration.

excellent i should be able to get the cash together in the next week or so. when i send you the ecu and you send it back? is it just a case of simply "plugging" it back in or is there any work involved?

I will need your ECu for 2-3days. While I have it you will not be able to use your car. once I send it back it will be a matter of plugging it straight in. I will need a week notice before you send it as some of my equipment is on loan.
