after a few months i sold her for a mk2 golf G60 bad mistake after searching for another G40 i ended up tracking down my old one and buying her back,

i wasnt happy with how she returned so i was goin to better her former glory.....

SO AFTER NO JOY WITH PSD ANOTHER CHARGER WAS PURCHASED FROM GERMANY CANT REMEMBER COMPANY £500 + THE MONEY LOST WITH PSD ONE:

was put in my new garage built just for the G40 ready for some work...



plates swapped , new stickers, exhaust off



gearbox out and loads of other bits...

ATV's one i blew up in bits and another i sourced



chargers and intake parts ...



manifold from yoof and the team and toothies from austria .... i out bid mk3g40jon ...



all parts taken off... dirty and old



soaked in gunt to clean up ....



sanded red oxided sprayed up

What was up with the G60?

How lucky was it to find another G in the same colour just floating around? There's none near me! Good to see you're getting stuck in with all the mechanical stuff. I'd be lost major.

i come from congleton and i have a capri green GT! Not round there much anymore though as i'm at uni in Sheffield.

Na I'm in sandbach, that was a g40 in congelton his mrs had a corrado storm vr6 or g60 cant remeber mid 30's tho

Not long at all

A little update , I'm now working on it everyday/ night



Bottom arms sprayed and brand new powerflexed up binned old ones , scrubed and undersealed arches and floor pan.



Gearbox cleaned re oiled and back in, all new bolts and gaskets when ever i take one off, re taping as much wiring as possable, new bumpers coming etc etc

wanting back on the road late april early may latest now.

should do mate yeah hoping to make it to 17th May Alltypes as thats when I'm tring to get it finished by ... after that I'm goin to keep it on the road while doing things so i should be at a few meets..will still be a working progress tho..

All on route:
Uprated drive shaft
Gt Inlet
PPP full system to be added to the manifold

Pulled most of loom out strip down inspected repaired found faults and started retaping in nice new bently tape;)

Metal Polishing Kit has now been purchased so can bling some bits up and gloss black others

UPdate:

I pulled out as much of my wiring loom as i could get at un taped check and repaired faults and re-taped

one engine mount cleaned up with new bolts etc


all new handbrake cables, alternator ready to be polished up, and bracket to be gloss black, toothed belt pullys etc


still more parts to go on ged rear brace, grill, charger,toothies etc etc

it should be ready to be honest just not time to put a new tank on or get bonnet and boot resprayed but it will be ok I've ended up doin other jobs as well like all new brakes etc when i didnt plan on

rear archs undersealed and some bits for engine sprayed gloss black today

Parts have arrived back from powdercoating gloss black pics will follow from this weekends mass session:)

-pickup up PPP manifold and system today manifold is fitted.
-bottom toothed belt pulley fitted
-powercoated charger /alternator bracket fitted
-semi mirror polished my alternator but got board but looks good ready to go on over weekend

picking more parts from vw in morning updates and pics will follow before weekend is out

how the parts you want from vw are there

because i ordered some parts from vw they took my money and when i went to get them they told me some of the parts i wanted are no longer in production

Was taken off the road to sort out some niggly issues mate and things just kept getting added to the list
