Rolo
here's how i did it lol.gif lol.gif I'm board so i did a step by step lol.gif
light in oven gas mark 7 for 10min's biggrin.gif

then slowly prise the glass off (very carefull shit shock.gif )

once off, mask the middle out with masking tape, and sand the areas you want to spray biggrin.gif

that spray with high heat matt black (or what ever colour you want)

then let to dry.
when dry de-mask it and stick the glass back on, i used silicone sealer.

then leave foe the silicone to dry, i had my dinner then lol.gif

i also did my indicators, by spraying bit by bit into the midle where to bulb goes untill i was happy.

then slat them all back in biggrin.gif

If any one try's this using this info, I'm not held responsible for any thing thats not right lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

Maaaan, 2 years ago I seen headlights like these and I wanted to make some. I still haven't got my ass round to doing it, lol. I should really stop hauling ass and just do it.

nicely done!
rs2000rik
are they legal??? want to do mine but dad advises me not to???
Karl
I can't see why they would be illegal, as the parts being tinted are the ones that are not used to reflect light. As long as the main bowl (that Rolo has masked off) remains reflective they shouldn't greatly affect visibility.

I run a pair of the DJ Auto smoked front headlights (available off the shelf tinted, but the downside is they're only available in left hand drive), and have sat an MOT with them with no problems, and find them no bother at night. I have had to adjust them downwards slightly (due to them being LHD) so I don't blind other road users (too much).

Karl.

What kind of tape did you use?

Decorators masking tape I guess would be the best thing.
