I have a new 2019 Polo. About 1 month ago my interior lights and baggage lights stopped working.
In the garage they found a short in the electric wires.
One day after that problem back.
In the garage they found burnt connector placed in the sunshade.
Anyone encountered a similar situation ?
If you've been to the petrol station recently, you'll have noticed the labelling of unleaded and diesel has changed. The new labels are E5 and B7 for petrol and diesel respectively.
So E5 petrol contains 5% ethanol, B7 is 7% biodiesel.
The government is considering introducing E10 petrol, but the RAC research says older Volkswagen golfs are not compatible..
Would our old Polos be ok?
It is finally time to sell my polo due to wanting to finish another project.
The car has an mot untill July 2020 and has just had new break pads & rear drivers side wheel bearing, since the last mot the car has only driven to the shop a couple of times & to Santa pod raceway the car ran fine all the way there apart from the choke had to be left on I suspect that one of the jets are blocked as I don,t use the car a lot I've not got round to doing a carb rebuild. The car is starting to show some signs of surface rust on the sills & arches and there is a patch on the bonnet that has peeled but has been patched up but apart from that the paint & body work is in very good condition for its age.
I'm not too keen to sell to be honest so i wont take any stupid offers as I do like the car & will miss it, it's just I need the money for another project. £1500 ono.
Corrigated washer pipe has split on 2008 VW Fox (assuming Polo has same pipe)
It's had a semi permanent fix done but just wondering if anyone else has had this or any good ways to fix.
2001 Polo 6N2 1.9 SDI
I've had this car since 2011 have serviced it myself every year and fixed any bits that have needed doing along the way I've got load of receipts and paperwork, It's had a new clutch and bearing in July 2017 also had the clutch peddle reinforced welded as that broke a quite few years ago and has been spot on ever since. It needs a bit of love and care and I dont have the time for it anymore due to a new baby it would be a shame to see it go to waste as it a really reliable and cheap to insure. It's got the dreaded tin worm on the rear wheel arch which needs some attention before the MOT and has had some welding not to the best cosmetic standard on the passenger side sill but that's solid just looks ugly (painted over with stone chip). If you're after a cheap, reliable car and you have a bit of time available to spend fixing it up this would make a good investment as these engines are bulletproof as we all know. I am open to offers as I would hate to see this go to waste as it's got a good few years left in it yet and I just dont have the time.
List of known faults:
-Gearbox seal is leaking I keep it toped up but only have to put about 0.5 liter in it every six months so only a sight leak.
-Rust on passenger side rear wheel arch.
-Car vibrates alot when stationary, think it needs a new rear gearbox mount/brush fitting.
- A few scrape here and there.
Any questions just PM me.
