Hi all,

I'm reluctantly selling my 1991 Breadvan GT. It's an original GT with only 77k on the clocks. It's MOT'd until 4th October this year and has been off the road since November 2018.

It broke down on me one evening - just cut out at traffic lights. It's not getting a spark from the coil and i've been very limited with the amount of time I've been able to spend this year to fix it as I got married in April! I have a new car now and sadly it's time to let go.

Good bits:

Original GT breadvan

Cambelt, water pump, head gasket and skimmed-head by previous owner (I have some receipts for the parts and pictures of the work undertaken to back this up) within the last 3 years

Very clean interior with no rips or tears

Factory-fitted sunroof (no leaks)

Externally it's completely standard apart from the rear wiper has been removed (it didn't work) so I popped a grommet in it's place to tidy it up

Engine has a Polo-PP ecu chip and an Ashley 4 branch manifold, straight-through centre section and a stock G40 backbox (backbox is currently held by fat cable ties as the original hangers are rubbish - was all OK for the MOT) - sounds normal on idle with a bit of a rasp when booting it

No corrosion on the car - but there is surface rust as you'd expect with a car of this age

I've had around 6 Mk2f's over the last 14 years and this is by far the tightest and straightest one i've owned

Servicing: Rear brakes rebuilt for the last MOT in October as well as a new fuel filter fitted. Last Feb it had an oil change, new HT leads, distributor cap, rotor arm, oil filter, thermostat & housing, air filter. New oil pressure switch fitted last April.

Not-so-good bits:

Non-runner at the moment

There's a dent on the rear drivers side

2-3 melted wires by the coil - this may be related to the non-sparking issue but i clocked this when I first had the car and left it as it was working fine as it was. The wires have been cut out and connectors replaced with a connector block for now

Pics: don't have any as it stands right now (will take some this week) but here's a link to my thread, it hasn't changed much at all:
