Im looking for my old polo. The reg is L287 SCD. I see it not long has MOT/Tax and would to find it. If anyone knows who owns it now please let me know.

Looking for our old Polo Breadvan van - 1993 in white, was sold on in 2013 after having it a few years but we made a mistake selling it and really want it back.

looked on the DVLA and seen it hasn’t been taxed or MOT’d in a good while.

Reg was L391UFE - looking to buy it back in whatever state even if not roadworthy.

if anyone has any news or thinks they’ve even seen it would be a great help

I bought it in a bit of a state with battered and rusty arches, missing bits of trim, tatty doors and a dealer fit glass sunroof.
 

I swapped out the fuel tank and inlet manifold from a GT and replaced the missing trim, put a pair of cloth corrado seats in it, cleaned up the BRV (not quite a mirror finish), added a front adjustable strut brace from the cup car donor and fit some front underside and rear strut bracing, put it on cup car suspension with ultra stiff bushes, 300mm front brembo brakes, cup car exhaust, Jabba rebuilt and ported charger to R1 which was further polished and ported by Andy Boakes, 58mm charger pulley, Jabba sport induction shield and filter, 51mm throttle body, Alard multi core intercooler in original mounting point, front mounted oil cooler and an oversized oil catch can, Sachs ceramic clutch and a quaiffe limited slip diff.

I sold it to Andy Stagg with all the original parts plus a spare engine from a cup car donor which was a 1308 with a 272 piper cam, green top injectors and vernier pulleys, obviously wasn’t still sealed as I’d had it ported. I believe he changed the suspension, brakes and removed the braces to use it on the road.

I don’t know whether the spare engine was ever installed by the subsequent owner(s) but the original engine was pretty potent anyway especially once I had it mapped at Jabba sport. Just a shame I hardly ever drove it.

I used to be more active on here when I had my polos and hoping you guys will be able to help me :).  I am looking for my Dads old polo, car that took me home from the hospital when I was born and car I learnt to drive in.  Dad has a big birthday coming up and would love to buy it back for him (if the new owner was open to that). 

Have done a mycarcheck and has not come up as scrapped, stolen etc but then has not been taxed since 2008 so I am hoping its tucked away in someone's garage.  I sold it to a member of Clubpolo called Quinny in 2006 who drove it for a few years then he sold on.

Hi all, so today out of sheer boredom, I decided to look up some old cars of mine on 'Check The Car' to see if they were still on the road! Much to my surprise, my old breadvan was showing as MOTed and Taxed! I haven't owned or seen the car for over 5 years but just wondered if anyone on here owns it or has any info about it! It was purchased from me in Surrey as a SORN project and ??went up north somewhere?? when I sold it before going off to uni, but that's about as much as I know! it was reg: G477 WMO, a white 1989 'Match' edition although 'Check The Car' is now showing it as Green!

Would just be great to see how it's looking now as this car meant a lot to me! Any help appreciated, thanks. 🙂

Hasn't been MOT'd since 2018, but is still SORN, and from the check that I ran said it hasn't been scrapped.

It's last known location was Swaffham (PE37) near Norfolk in January 2018. It changed hands a couple of times around Edinburgh and Glasgow around 2012-2014 before ending up in Norfolk. Here is a RetroRides for sale listing that I found from April 2016, I will drop them a message on there shortly. I later found it for sale on eBay in December 2016, the second photo is taken from the listing. I believe the car was purchased from the eBay seller by an Andrew or their son. Since then it has had G60 steel wheels, an aftermarket steering wheel installed and stickers applied but as I said it is now untaxed and without MOT. In April 2016 it had an MOT performed in Knaresborough, Harrogate.

So I used to have a Polo - it was my first car purchased it at the tender age of 17 in June 2012 for the tidy price of £275 with a leaky fuel tank and dodgy rear brake drums. After putting on 21,000 miles on it, changing lots of parts including the timing belt & water pump -  I came to part with it in March 2015 when I fell in love with a black MK1 MX5 .... (thats another story)

Anyway I was looking to buy another cheap little runaround and would love to find the polo again... I sold it to a gentleman who bought it for his daughter but due to the lack of power steering and the Audi Alloys it had made steering somewhat heavy for her. He sold it to a VW enthusiast, who then sold it to somebody else just recently in December 2016....
