The Goodwood Festival of Speed has been in touch in me. It’s having a class in the Cartier Style et Luxe Concourse d’elegance dedicating exclusively to cars designed by Marcello Gandini. I don’t actually know how much input Bertone and Gandini had in the final Mk1 Polo/Audi 50 design – I think it might be minimal – but regardless of that, it’s nice to know the Polo is being honoured. 

So… Goodwood is looking for any fortunate owners of Mk 1 Polos or Audi 50s that would be available to take part. The ideal display car has to be in good condition and totally original inside and out. (One car that comes to mind is Luke Hebert's 1976-1977 car.)

The Festival of Speed takes place July 11th-14th. The car would be needed anytime between Monday-Wednesday before the event goes live on the Thursday, and can be collected anytime on the Monday morning after the event. Sadly Goodwood can’t offer transport to the event. However, an entry will include weekend admission tickets, an invitation to The Ball at Goodwood House on Saturday night hosted by The Duke of Richmond, and also Cartier’s champagne reception and prize-giving lunch on the Sunday.
 
The cars are supervised at all times so owners don’t have to always be onsite, and are welcome to explore the festival on any day.

It's free to get in, the first 500 cars will get goody bags, and alongside the static show and shine, and general merriment,

we have booked the circuit between 5-8pm!

With two 20mins taster sessions and two 55minute sessions, one for all abilities and vehicles and one for

more experienced drivers and machinery.
It would be great to see some of the Club Polo builds out on track in action taking part in these.

The time has come round again this year for Bundle O' Dubz 2016.

It's a weekend jobby from the 8th - 10th of July

This year it is at:

Last year the weather was amazing and the show as whole was brilliant.

There are various traders: Parts jumble, cleaning bits and pieces etc

It's all in all a really social event with many local clubs and also local members from larger clubs from the whole VW spectrum of vehicles; be it, Air-cooled, Water-cooled, new or old. Everything is there and welcome

A major part of the show is to raise money for the Hellen Rollason Cancer Charity, an Essex based charity who provide support for sufferers and their families.

There is a Show n Shine on the Sunday which brings out some of the best local Vdubs.

Early bird tickets are available until the 21st April or until they've sold out.

If there is enough interest in this I'll get in contact with the organisers to arrange a club camping pitch.

If we can get a club pitch or enquire as a club there is the opportunity for discounts on tickets.

As it stands if you buy an early bird ticket :
