  4. Hello everyone. This is my first post here and I can say that I came here for a desperate situation that I've been through in the last days. So my car is a 2000 6n2 gti 1.6 16v engine and I bought it last year. Everything ok at the beginning until one day (about 2 months after I bought it) I noticed the clutch was slipping a bit (the car had 4 people and luggage) . So I always thought that soon I would need a new clutch. In the past couple weeks I was having fun with some mates at the roadway and after that, the clutch started to whine (nothing super loud, radio could perfectly "cover" that n
  5. Hello all, I have a polo 1.4 diesel 6n2 (not GTi) originally comes with drums on the rear, what rear axle fits so I can have disc brakes.? Cheers Sophie

    Polo 6N2 1.6 16v GTI

Hello guys... Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place, but I'm new to the club. I have a Polo 6N2 1.6 16v GTI (125hp) and the thing is that I kind of blew up the engine... Anyway the engine is been rebuild and it's about 95% done, the only thing I need is a new connecting rod for this model. I've been looking everywhere so this is one of my last options.Again sorry if I didn't post this in the right place but if anyone ,miraculously, has one lying around and wants to get rid of it feel free to text me. Thank you in advance.
  7. hey polo peeps!! I've fitted 6n2 GTI hubs onto my 6n2 1.4 8v and now the wheels are toed in massively ! the hole for the track rod end to go into is 10mm closer to the steering rack than the 1.4 hubs and I've now been 2 weeks without my only car trying to figure it out. so far the only solution myself and the mechanic at the garage doing it while I'm at work have is to put threads further up the track rod and chop the ends off to make it fit but surely there's something were missing ? some part that needs changing???? I'm at a loss and I want my car back from what shouldve been a
  8. Hello, hopefully someone has had same issue. On way to work, got stuck in traffic, temp gauge went up to 110', got to work, bridged fan switch, fan didn't work either high or low setting, so ordered fan. Fan works fine, but when I put air con on, does not engage, and low feed fan does not kick in, had a look on line, found out possible fan relay under battery, ordered this and fitted 9 although slightly different casing, was told it would fit, fitted after disconnecting battery. Put car back together, hey presto it worked....so I thought, after switching car off going back to it, s
  9. Hi lads, ive just fitted Gti Xenons to my 6n2 Polo. I need to aim them a little higher but the electric motor doesnt lift them high enough. The manual adjustment cog/gears are shredded, do i just need to replace those and turn clockwise a bit or could i damage something else by doing this? Thanks guys Paul

    I'm Back! Ross' GTI

Hi all! So after some years since owning my last polo I am once again a polo owner! Had a 6n 16v as my first car which I loved and spent too much money on. I am sure the build thread is still on here somewhere. Here is a quick picture of it before I sold it Then the urge for more power kicked in so I upgraded to a MK4 Golf GTI which I wish I never sold. Again, spent far to much on this one as well (will see a common theme going on with my cars here) Then came the biggest mistake I ever made, moving away from VW. Brought this money p
  14. hello i have a GTI 6n2 3 door and central locking pump in boot and both front door lock barrels are broken. Central locking pump circuit has burned inside. so no locking / unlocking available via key either due to broken barrels. Wanted to know if a cheaper aftermarket remote locking kit will still work independant of standard pump in the boot or does the actual pump has to be in working condition for the aftermarket kit to work. Secondly I have bought a kit and connected everything with the wires in the boot to the pump and aftermarket kit is operating fine but does not lock or u
  15. Hey Guys Hope you can help me with this one, as its starting to really do my head in. Last Saturday my car died after pulling out from a junction, got it to the side of the road and tried starting it again. It was cranking over but not starting and the locks started locking and unlocking.. Thinking it was something serious I rang the RAC. RAC man came out and scanned the car, fault was to do with the engine control relay, cleared the code and then the car started fine, so drove it home. Few days later the car died again, scanned it myself and got P0688, car wouldn't start bu
