    My VW polo BlueGT

Hi All, I’m new to the forum! So ive had my BlueGT for just over a week and I absolutely love it! Anyway i I have one little issue with it, well not so much an issue, I just need reassuring that it’s normal! Basically I'm a little concerned at how hard the ride is and that I can feel everything and every little imperfection of the road through the steering wheel? Is this normal on the Blue GT? All replies much appreciated.
  3. Im loving my 84 1.3 polo, its great on the narrow backroads near me.. but I don't feel like I've got the best out of it handling wise. I've got some 14/6j wheels on which started with 195/45 toyo proxies, and now some other 185/55s which ride much better. Also full poly bushings. Sofar i've tried 60/40 H&R cup suspension all round, i found it too harsh and basically track oriented which wasnt working. Next up new stock shocks with kilen 40mm springs, not much better... it wasn't so low and softer but the dampening and lack of travel just didn't feel great. I'm now back to completely stock with a coil cut out the fronts. I've played with the tire pressures loads, currently at around 28. As it is now feels the closest in terms of 'actually go around a countryside corner spiritedly' simply because this soft suspension absorbs some bumps, but not well enough! When going round a corner the current problem is the front wheels really lean over and start to skip and chatter sideways. Theres obviously loads of body roll, and also it just handles the very very small bumps like crap, the things that make your boot thump... that kind of bump. Large bumps are great, its a very comfortable car but it rumbles along the road. I know its a light car but there must be some modern tricks to really help this things ride? The goal being a smooth ride with reduced body roll and better front end grip. I'm trying to think of the best option for it... PPP Stage 2 subframe with the arb blocks does sound like a good idea, definitley on the list to help the front end. I can see H&R 35mm springs and a few other brands for sale too but all similar, a different pair of lowering springs again on stock shocks, is that the answer? Air ride??? Better shocks? like what? Can you guys give me your best advice on what road setups you've had and the best things to go for. Air ride with the subframe does sound like it could be dreamy but its a pricey decision. Cheers!

    Wanted Mk2 Breadvan Drivers Wing

Time Left: 6 days and 7 hours

    • WANTED
    • USED

In need of a Mk2 Polo breadvan drivers side wing with indicator hole. Colour does not matter as long as the wing is straight. Obviously would be a bonus if the wing was already tornado red but I can paint it if not. Depending on condition of the wing it may only be temporary so the car can still be used whilst my wing is painted so all conditions of wings considered. Looking for one close to Sp11 Andover but don’t mind travelling a little bit.

  6. I am in the process of rebuilding a 1.3 engine for my mk2 polo, and am about to fit the camshaft and time it up. However I am unsure which of the two key ways on the cam the pulley is supposed to lock into to allow the timing marks to be correct. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks, Jordan

  10. Went to the car wash earlier on, came out from there to Asda which is literally 500 mtrs up the road, did some shopping went back to the car and it wouldn't start,so called AA out,Guy said that it wasn't anything to do with the car wash but a spontaneous thing to happen. He took a plug out to see if there was a spark and nothing zilch. So anyway just got towed back to my home.???Does anyone one here have a clue as to what has happened with the car. Any answers on this would be great as i need my car for work on monday.

    Polo 9n gt egr help

HELP !! Polo 9n GT tdi 130pd BLT engine 2005 I need to know what egr is needed for this engine and if it’s the one that has the anti shudder valve as I have this plug hanging around and now engine management light on and has been mapped out and that but you can’t map the eml out ... Ps it has a egr delete It I think it’s the wrong one as I think it should have the asv attracted as that’s what the cable is for...... when I did the delete that plug was never plugged in and there was no asv there either
  13. i got the wrong type of fog light. the one i needed was bumper mounted . anyway.... fancy changing to round fog lights now. is the 6n2 grill plates where the fogs go into the same as the 6n 16v https://www.megaparts.eu/en/product/1186105960
  14. Okay so my car cut out again this morning, started fine, idled fine half choke and drove off fine, wouldn't rev high whilst on choke, wouldn't idle whilst off choke, then 100 yards down the road cut out and wouldn't start, just kept turning over and turning over for about 5 minutes then eventually started to pick up and started again. I must be getting air in from somewhere on the carb as I've tried richening up the mixture to no avail, gunsons colourtune shows no change in colour no matter hkdow far you adjust the mixture screw and gas tester shows .6-1.1 co on idle, plugs are white This makes me think that its carburettor issue causing the cutting out and not starting unfortunately I didn't have a spark plug with me to check if I had spark when it cut out So I've been considering changing the solex out for a Weber but I'm not sure which is suitable I've seen people mention 32tla but is a 32tlm for a 950cc fiesta the equivalent?

Volkswagen Polo GTI - Unmodified 2000 Plate 77,417 Miles Full Service History MOT - 04.07.2018 Climatronic climate control Factory HID Headlights Remote Central Locking Electric Windows Full Documents with 2X Keys 1X Emergency Key New genuine alternator and aux belt New battery Last oil and filter change with genuine parts - 11.11.2017 The car has a couple of small scuffs but overall in very good condition for its year, it has become a very rare and sought after model. Very good on fuel and easy to insure. The car is listed on the logbook as "Damaged, Uneconomical to Repair", this was due to an incompetent van driver who reversed into the door causing very minor but noticeable dents. The door and wing have since been replaced; I can provide photographic proof of this. The only known fault on this car is the air re-circulation flap on the heater box clicks sometimes, i have been assured this is the motor that needs replacing which i will provide with the car, this does not affect the functionality whatsoever. £1800 ONO

    Polo Classic

Hello everybody! I want to install front fog lights on my car and i was wondering if i could control it from my main light switch? Its a polo classic 6kv from late 98 left drive,. i've read somewhere that some polo 6n have wires already running from the main light switch into the engine bay, so im wondering if that goes for 6kv aswell and if so where are they located might i be just as lucky? And if anybody know how to install fogs from the lightswitch, given that i would have to run wires myself if they aren't already. Thanks in advance!

    Had a dream last night

Had a dream that we moved into a new house and previous owner had left a mk2f saloon in the garage. No rust, big spec - headlight washers, front fogs, sunroof - the lot. Went to give it a service. Popped off the oil cap. Blown head gasket.

    Polo breadvan build thread

Hi there thought I start a build thread from a year ago from when I bought the car. I was 16 what I bought it as a car to learn how to do things on as I had use of a ramp at a local garage as I was a Saturday boy there. I bought it for 200£ with a months on it! I then got a mate at work to list everything that would need doing and there was a fair bit but I took it on. I needed to do starter motor as it was broken and wired up dodgy and a track rod end and new suspension all round which I went for a 60/40 ta technix lowering kit after that a mate done welding to inner and outer both sills which a wasn’t too expensive and was much appreciated as then after a few bulbs and a couple of tyres it passed the mot This picture was taken a few weeks after it passed at dubs at the park and I found pictures of some of the rust and me spraying it after my mate had done the welding
