Can anyone shed any light on this Thanks Ben

Hi Chaps, it's been a VERY long time since I've been on here.. 2011 in fact. I'm back in the market for a Polo looking at a Dune for the other half's first car. My last car was a 6n2 GTi and I know sweet fa about any Polo's after that. Does anyone have any info on Dunes, such as a buyers guide? I'm interested in common faults and which engine I should be looking at (i'm favouring the 1.4 FSi at the moment). Thanks in advance chaps.

MK2F 1.0 AAU to 1.6 AEE conversion Help required before i pull the polo apart
kizerfluid posted a topic in Engine, Transmission and Exhaust
Hi guys i know iv been quiet on here for a very long time sins i sold my last polo which i dropped the GT engine in but now im back with a question for the guru's here as i have found a lot of conflicting information scattered about the internet regarding this. First of all let me start out by saying im looking at doing about 3 different engine conversions at the moment and dont want to waste my time / effort on the polo if its not going to work anyway as i have a e36 BMW to take a 318i 8v engine out of and put a 318is 16v stroked engine in for definite. Along with that- 4 replies

Where to start??? (i'll make it as short as possible) Noise when idling which goes away once clutch is depressed.. After much research possibly two culprits; 1. release bearing. 2. input shaft bearing. Took gearbox out to GEARBOX SPECIALIST who gave it a external examine (spinning & listening to the moving parts) Advised by said specialist to change clutch as it could be just that and it may be more cost effective as, if he opens it up and finds nothing it'll cost, popped new clutch it, got gearbox on (replaced gear oil) started car, noise still there but a

Okay, haven't posted in ages but have the strangest of problems and need the worlds polo brain power - 64 plate polo 6R - 18k miles. When cycling the key ( it also does it when you reconnect the battery ) the strings 4 "chirps" come from the passenger side of the dash. Always normally 4 chirps, normally the same length but sometimes vary. Sounds like a muted buzzer. No faults in VAGcom. Car starts, drives and appears to work perfectly. Whether its related or not but the interior lights have packed up. No power at the connector in the light unit. Now the m

Polo MK2F 1.3 Electrical Fuel Problem? Video attached! Help please :)
MK2FKieran posted a topic in Engine, Transmission and Exhaust
Hi everyone, if anyone could help me diagnose my problem that would be amazing! I'm sure its down to something electrical? I have recently got back hold of the car (off road since'15) I had her firing a few times but running naff (always near enough flooding) so since these things I have changed; spark plugs, battery, replaced 1 HT lead (misfire), dizzy cap, oil sensor, blue and black coolant temp sensors, full service (oil, air & fuel) and also added and exhaust system. I have also added a gasket to the throttle body which was missing and fixed the one which sits between this and the car- 1 reply

Hi guys any information on this would be much appreciated, my 1l polo has been having intermittent problems for a while and now I'm not running it because it's just too annoying having to wait 10-20 minutes to let's it cool off before it runs.... It has been serviced and has had lots of parts put on it such as new leads, a complete new distributor including rotary arm and cap, new coil pack I've drained the cooling system completely and refilled, it's had new temp sensors put on it and I've tested the fan works with a hair grip across the terminals and it runs, have swap out the s

Hello, I am currently replacing the door cards in my 2001 Polo 6n2 5dr. I have successfully removed the old door card but I can't seem to figure out how the replacement one attaches (with the inner door handle being just below where the lock operating knob is). If anyone can help me out it will be much appreciated as I need them back on ASAP. Thank you Matthew

I just wanted to highlight a product in the Chris Knott range that will benefit some members when buying a new or nearly new car. Chris Knott GAP Cover is important if you'd like to replace your car with another one at the original value following a total loss claim. Highly competitive, this protection is likely to be vastly cheaper than your car dealer's equivalent offering. What is Chris Knott GAP cover? You may have heard of Finance GAP or Return To Invoice (RTI) GAP but Chris Knott's GAP is a combination of the best of both those worlds... In the event
