VW polo harlequin COPY, selling with a heavy heart as its not ULEZ compliant. 1.6 automatic petrol, with only 39000 miles! Sunroof, CD radio, factory alloys, electric windows, MOT till October, basically all original except the paint job. The car drives like a dream, don't really want to sell but not ULEZ compliant. Body work in great condition. Eye catching car that's fun to drive. One tyre will need replacing and the starter motor will need looking at soon hence open to sensible offers, asking £700

Hi guys new on here, what is the best carburettor cleaner going?
  3. My 9N Polo (2002) has a issue with the Instrument Cluster. Everytime I turn the Ignition Key on, the Trip and Clock have reset to 0KM and 0:00 and the Immobilizer doesn't always allow the Motor to be started. Leave the Key in the run position for a second or two and it will then start and run fine. Both Trip and Clock work perfectly once the Motor is running. Is there a permanent feed to the Instrument Cluster that may be failing? On a few rare occasions the entire Instrument Cluster has been dead until many lock and unlock the door cycles. This problem has escalated over many months from being very intermittent to now being constant.

Hi everyone, I have 1994 1043 cc Volkswagen Polo MK2F for sale, see pictures. It's been SORN since 2018, MOT expired Aug 2019. It's been kept off road. I've been meaning to get this up and running again but haven't had the time. I'm also moving houses in the next few months so would like it shifted. The oil sump needs replacing (included, also with gasket), the thread to hold the sump bolt had disintegrated. There's some light rust spots under the door, but most notably the battery tray - can be fixed but I'm not the one to do it. There also some mould on the seats - I had a car cover on it over the winter but the cover has been removed now. Before it was SORN, it's had a two new tyres and a new alternator installed. HT leads are newish as is distributor. It will run but needs a loving home to go to! The potential buyer would have to arrange towing or a trailer. Happy to answer more questions and viewing recommended! I'm based in Headington, Oxford. Thanks for taking the time to look!

  5. Hi, have replaced by camshaft bearing cap studs (they are m8x56 double ended studs). I am wondering either if there is a specific vw nut which will yield correctly or be 'proper' and not a snappy ebay special boi. Is there a m8 bolt I can buy in a type of steel that will be best too? Any help Cheers George
  6. Hello again! So during storm dennis my polo let some water in. Specifically into the drivers door (i pulled a dry doorcard off and it was wet behind the speaker). My electrical problems: My central locking only locks when i dont have the key in, but once i have ignition first click turned, both the lock and unlock buttons unlock the doors, and you cannot even force them down by hand. 2nd, the window is dead. Even holding the key in the lock only moves passenger window. I assume the motor is dead or wiring fried. Now ive just spent near a grand getting the clutch and suspension sorted so cant afford much but really wanna try and fix this. Ive checked all relating fuses and theyre all good (oddly) Can i convert it to manual with no motor? Where can i start to look in order to fix the central locking? I will accept very botch solutions to this so please if youve read through and can share anything..its all welcome! Cheers

  13. Hi all, Ive got a problem with my daughters polo 9n 3 door. The windows have decided to wind down on there own and car unlocks it self to, and there is a constant clicking coming from the doors after this has happened. Ive temp taking out the fuses for the windows and central locking as a temp measure as im worried car will get wet or items may get stolen.. this started happening last night, when i turn the key left on the drivers side door it sometimes lock the whole car and do windows up but most times it just locks that side, other times it locks whole car, this is the same from passenger side too,if i turn the key right it sometimes wind windows down and only only drivers door and sometimes passenger door.. any one point me in the right direction to solve this issue please, recently fitted new clutch and power steering rack, so seems like a never ending story with faults atm, also ive checked the rubber and wires inside the door hinge area and all seem ok, fuses were ok to 38,39 and 51 i think they were,,,thanks

  15. Hi all, Drilled through my rack today after trying to remove a broken bolt in the gearbox to subframe captive nut, any info on how to replace please and can I just drop subframe with rack on? or is it easier to take rack out from the side, front or rear? can I get away with just dropping front part of exhaust too? thanks all Polo 9n 1.2
  16. Hi, Can anyone help! I have a 64 plate VW polo. When I lock the car the interior lights stay on and flash randomly (including hazard light, steering wheel lights, electric window buttons) which is causing the battery to drain. Taken to VW for diagnostics they said to try new dash clocks as the first stage of repair for £1000!! Any advice welcome!! Dash clocks work perfectly fine normally.

    New Polos and the club!

Hi Guys, I just bought a sliver 1.6 GTi 6n2. It is a 2000, with 102k on the clock. I have always liked these when I was younger, and when this one came up at a decent price I couldn't resist! The car is completely standard, even has the original VW Gamma radio with 6 disc CD changer in the boot. Which still works! The car looks like it was loved at some point in its life and still appears that way today, though the paint will need a few hours spent on it with a buffer to bring it back to its former glory. As soon as the weather allows I will get on that. Buy the way I was looking for the paint code, and couldn't find anything on the labels under bonnet nor in the door jams. Any ideas where I can find this information? I have had it for all of 2 days, and noticed a sticker in the back window for this website. Figured I'd come in and say "hi" and see if the old own is still on here. The reg is X979 WBB in sliver with the grey/red number 1 interior. Cheers for now Abs

My polo has sadly failed the recent M.O.T, on a rusty front cross member and has been given a few advisory's. It has 34,000 genuine miles on the clock and a new battery. Condition of the paint work not n the best condition and a small dent in the rear bumper. Too expensive for me personally to repair, therefore I was wonderine if you as an enthusiast would be interested as the car would be good for spares or repair. The car is drives fine. £200 or reasonable offers.

I'm on the look out for a Volkswagen Polo 6N 16v for a little project to have on the side Must have: MOT and it to be valid, also a running engine and gearbox. (No engine transplant, I want the original engine) Be a 3 door version (personal preference, but may consider a 5 door) Be on a V PLATE (OR, one of the last one made ideally as they sometimes put on extras from the factory before the facelift) this would be a '98 or '99 model. Rear Disks Air Con Front working fog lights (Ideally factory option) Less than 100,000 miles and full service history, or at least a good chunk to back up any work that's be been done over the years Ideally not rusted and no major work need doing, I really don't wanted rusted sills either... I don't mind it being slightly modified but nothing stupid. Either in the midnight blue, red or black (preference would be RED) Not Interested in, open-air variants or ones without air-con and rear disks, or the GLX, CL or the standard 1.4L or 1.6L.

  24. I've done an engine swap on my lupo to a 1.4 AUD engine. Upon installing the engine test firing and running on my old 1l ECU the engine ran fine but randomly cuts out for no reason. Pulled out my 1.4 ECU and swapped that in, the. During the process of installing the code box for the new ECU I immediately noticed that my plugs were different. I have vag tacho, and vcds, is there a way of removing the code off the 1.4 ECU and pasting the one from my 1l in so the engine runs? Thanks X
