Hi guys let me know if this is in the wrong section! Really hoping to change my polo 1.3 mk2f to a g40 engine; was looking to do a 1.8t but recently decided a g40 conversion would be more suitable. Just wondering how complex/possible it would be. Also any info on sourcing an engine. I presume it would fit quite nicely as the front end is oretty much exactly thr same... Mainly want to know if the g40 swap would require some kind of engine management and how i may go about doing it as i cant find much info online! Any info would be amazing thank you so much. Ben
Finally got my timing marks perfect and got to the point of setting the z with the strobe.so I did so by removing blue temp sender holding revs at 2000 and moved to z ‘mark.took car out for a drive ran nicely but zero boost.came back this time didn’t hold the Revs at 2000 just moved the mark to z and car now has nice boost but the mark is now not at z.what is going on?i only decided to try it without holding the revs as I did read some g40s don’t need the Rebs holding to set the mark.can anyone shed some light on this please I’m so nearly there
My front mount intercooler has seen better days on my polo g40 so I’m looking to replace it.the one which is on there was given to me as a gift so I have no idea what it came off.so I’m curious to know what you are using on your polos so if anyone can give me any suggestions that would be great. many thanks matt
