Hi guys and first post so I did the start motor plus inlet gasket and throttle flange and later realised the lambada sensor had come unscrewed but by that time I thought the ht leads were wrong so I swapped two round and heard a loud pop! 😮😮 before I touched Ht leads with the lambada sensor lose it ran rough and misfire (think it’s down to that anyway? ) now the poor thing will hardly start. Wondering if any u guys know wtf is going on? cheer jamie
  2. Hey guys, not much of a greese monkey and my English is bad so bear with me. I recently bought a 2nd hand 1.4 16v 2003 BBY, been running ok with a few issues but and have been able to fix them, cleaned it up and still working on it. the recent problem m now having is a leak from the valve located at the top of the engine as shown from the attachments, when I cold start it, runs for about 2-5m before it starts getting hiccups. At first I would get black and blue smoke but now just hiccups without smoke(this is after I hadn't started it for a week). Problems started after we cleared check the engine light, so don't if somehow related. That day when I removed the air filter cover the bolt holding that valve was almost fully unscrewed. Seemed as though the pressure from the oil had removed it. White smoke was coming from sparkplug hole diretly inline with the valve, smoke was also from the throttle body, everything was a complete mess. I need help with the possible cause for this, is it risky using the car ? and how can I fix it. I want to work on this car myself if it's possible. I want to understand this car and build it up myself. Please help.
