  1. Okay so my car cut out again this morning, started fine, idled fine half choke and drove off fine, wouldn't rev high whilst on choke, wouldn't idle whilst off choke, then 100 yards down the road cut out and wouldn't start, just kept turning over and turning over for about 5 minutes then eventually started to pick up and started again. I must be getting air in from somewhere on the carb as I've tried richening up the mixture to no avail, gunsons colourtune shows no change in colour no matter hkdow far you adjust the mixture screw and gas tester shows .6-1.1 co on idle, plugs are white This makes me think that its carburettor issue causing the cutting out and not starting unfortunately I didn't have a spark plug with me to check if I had spark when it cut out So I've been considering changing the solex out for a Weber but I'm not sure which is suitable I've seen people mention 32tla but is a 32tlm for a 950cc fiesta the equivalent?
  2. Hi everyone, This is the start to my project of which I hope to complete through this year/ start of next year! It is going to be raced with the hopes to be able to be one of the quickest cars out there, the video below is what I'm against from, 120 ish micras to high reving fiat unos! its not gonna be the easiest to be able to get up there but I think I can accomplish it? it is going to be fully spaced framed with the only bits belonging to the car being the panels and engine, but even the engine is going to be modified: with the hopes of getting it to rev to 9500 rpm with out shitting a rod lol! Sunday 7th of January: I bought the car and got it home and it is now sat out side, and will be sat there for another 2 weeks till I start to strip the remaining items off the shell and get ready to chop the floor and make a start to the space frame! (IF all goes to plan)
  3. Hi there everyone I have recently bought a breadvan which I am going to race next year! It is a 1043cc (u carnt run the 1.3 annoyingly) I have a few questions I think u could help me with: 1. Can u get a steel crankshaft and con rods? 2. Is it possible to get over sized pistons to make the engine some where around the 1130cc mark? 3. What’s the most power u can squeeze out of them and how? 4. Whats the best gear box ratios from the other aau engines? ———————————————————————— I want the engine to make as much power as possible from the 1043cc as that’s all you are only allowed a engine up to 1130cc! I will be up against cars that can easily rev past 9k hence why I need steel conrods and a steel crank! Any information is very appreciated and I will keep everyone informed if it has pertential to do what I want it to do! Thanks Aaron Mullen

  5. Hi, got a 1994 1043cc MK2f owned it for almost a year. 3 days ago the car really began struggling to start. It turns over for a while and with a lot of encouragement from the throttle it will eventually get going. Once it is running it is absolutely fine, no problems what-so-ever. It's due a service which I did tonight (was given the wrong spark plugs and fuel filter so those will be done tomorrow). Was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue. Had a little look through FAQs and think rotor arm, dist cap & HT leads might be worth replacing. Thanks in advance
