Hi I have a VW polo 2002 9n, I have a problem with my wiper blades front and back: With the front the wiper blades sit to high, when I turn them off the go all the way down like they should but then then come back up a bit How can I adjust them to sit properly? The back wiper does not work at all, it sprays fine but the wiper does not work, I'm thinking its the motor, so is there any checks I can do to confirm this? If it is the motor, how do I get to it The last problem I have is I just brought a USB to go into the cigarette lighter unit, but the lighter is stuck in the pushed down position how can I get it out without damaging it Thank you any advice is appreciated
  2. Hi so I'm pretty new to this site but have bumped into a problem with my Polo and not sure where my next move is. So i bought some LED bulbs from Halfords for my number plate lights and after fitting them I turned my lights on to check them but they didn't work, so i decided to put my old ones back in but now the normal bulbs didn't work either. As i went to drive home i realised on my journey home that i also had no Dash illumination lights either and couldn't actually see how fast i was going. My first thought was a fuse problem so the next day i check the fuses and checked the user manual and found that they share the same fuse so obviously it must have been the fuse... NOT! the fuse was fine and so were all my other fuses as i pulled them out one by one. After a little research online i found that someone had replaced their light switch (the dial below the drivers air blowers to turn the headlamps on) so i ordered a new light switch. Once that arrived I unplugged my old light switch and plugged in my new one... Nothing. so after replacing the bulbs, fuses and now replacing the light switch too I'm stuck and not really sure where to go next. If someone could please help ill be much appreciated!!!     My 9n

    So i'm new to the forums but having owned my 9n since January 2015 thought id post, it's my first car having passed the week before i got it. I recently spent some time fixing some issues i had with it, and then set to making it a little more interesting.. When i first got it the front left suspension spring had snapped clean in half so had to be replaced, there was alot of moisture inside, the exhaust was worn out and the clutch went within around a month. So all in all an expensive start. But i picked up a full new exhaust, suspension and clutch and then 4 new tyres all that was left was the smaller bits. The gear knob gaitor had worn through so i picked up a new one, soon to be a pool ball knob. i installed new fogs at the front and yellow'd them with film too. black badge at the front wind deflectors black steels new gear knob de badge de wiper foot well LED's relocated number plate soon to have- Hydro dipped blue engine cover, K&N 57i air filter hopefully. considering 9n3 rear lights i want to drop it but due to carrying alot of weight with work I'm struggling to justify it.   5. Afternoon guys, I found myself in an awkward situation the other day. I had just fitted some shiny new JOM bluelines to my beloved 02 9N but when I set the car down from the axle stands, two problems became apparent: The car was 60mm Higher than when I started The drive shaft was rubbing. I know I need shortened drop links to go lower than about 40mm but the coilovers should have allowed me the initial 30mm drop when they where wound fully up with the helpers still in.(I did try some shorter ford mondeo ones but this didn't help either) they had to be taken off as no position moved the drive shaft far enough away from the ARB. Has anyone encountered this before? I am now looking for alternative cheap coilover options and wondered if any of you could offer any suggestions for kits that would fit?

  7. Hi all. So I recently purchased a 2002 1.2 Polo, with only 60k mileage. After less than a day driving, the check engine light came on! The garage checked it with their computer, said it was a faulty Lambda sensor. Re-set the computer, and the light was off. Sad thing is it came back on again after about 30 miles. I want them to replace this sensor, and get that light off my dash! However, yesderday the check oil light came on whilst I was driving on the motorway - with beep (but only orange light). When I bought the car I noticed the oil was low, so I filled it up to just under the full marker (1L). When I managed to get off the motorway and check the oil, it was empty. I waited a good 45 mins, then checked again, and still empty. So I filled a little more oil in (I did not want to overfill) and drove home with no warning ligts. This weekend I did drive about 450 miles in the car... So my question is - can to two warning lights be connected? Could the car really use that much oil after driving +550 miles since I bought it? Should I use another oil (I used a Castrol they recomended in Halfords) perhaps? I am going to take it back to the garage where I got it to have them look at it, but wanted to ask for advice before they start telling me whats "wrong" with it. I am by no means an expert in cars, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am by no means an expert, and this is the first car I bought... cheers
  8. Hi, As seen from my build thread I'm wanting to make my 9N polo even lower. It's currently sat on FK Coilovers, Adjusters wound down to the bottom (around a 75mm drop). What can I now do to make it lower? I heard taking the adjusters out the back and helper springs out the front will work but surely this will make it unbalanced as helper springs are slightly larger than the rear adjusters? Any advice welcome. Cheers! Nick.
  9. Hi Guys, Going to be ordering coil overs for my polo this Friday! I'm quite new on this scene and I need a bit of help, Drop links, Do I need to order shorter or longer drop links? I've heard if I leave the standard ones in, The anti roll bar will rub and catch on the drive shaft? Is this true? Any advice welcome as I'm a rookie! Cheers!
