    My rev counter

Hi, I’m currently having a problem on my polo 6n 1995 where if I put my key in the ignition barrel and turn it once my rev counter dial will start going crazy and it doesn’t stop unless I take the key out and leave it for a few seconds but if I put the key in again it starts again and it’s only my rev counter none of my other dials do it 🤦🏻‍♂️ Anybody know why? Thanks in advance
  2. Hey all, I need to change the inlet temperature sensor in my polo 9n, but I have to remove the entire dashboard in order to do so. I have the instructions of how to do it, but was advised against taking it apart because its impossible to fit back together in the same way?? Has anyone got anyone taken the dash off of a 9n and managed to put it back without any creaking/noises coming? Let me know Thanks!

    EPC light

Hi guys, I currently have a problem with my car and just wondering if anyone can help me out at all. The EPC signal is coming up on my car and I'm not really sure what it is. My car is currently not in use as I'm no longer learning in it and waiting for my test to come up, this has caused a flat battery. The battery went flat the other month and I jump started it using a friends car and on that day the car worked and drove perfectly fine and no signals came up, however it's not been used since, hence the flat battery again, but a few days after this I checked the car again and the EPC light came on. Does anyone know what the problem may be when this signal appears and if it's easily fixable? Thanks :)

I have all parts , mean complete new model dash and want fit to my vw caddy mk 2 (last model) which based on polo 6KV. Best regards Giorgi
  5. So i bought a 53 plate 1.2 Polo (first car) about a week ago and I've noticed that the rev counter and speedo hand things don't light up so it's a bit of a struggle at night. I'm assuming it's not meant to be like that... Any help would be appreciated.

    Damp car

Does anyone know how to get rid of dampness in a car? My Polo has been sat since October and the steering wheel has slight signs of mould but there isn't any signs of dampness anywhere else, I know I could probably put a dehumidifier in it but is there anything else I can do? Thanks

    9n Dashboard dead

Hey guys, Turned my key yesterday and was greeted with nothing from my dashboard.... The clock, mileage, lights etc. are doing nothing. No back lights etc. If I flash the headlight I get the blue icon show up and the dipped beam light also shows. My indicators are working but not showing on the dashboard. I figured it was a flat battery so I put it on charge overnight. My stereo, interior lights, fuel pump etc. all work and make the right noises but still nothing on the dash. Anyone able to help? I've Googled it and searched the forum but can't seem to find anything... Thanks, Shane
  8. I have been having trouble with the indication lights on my 88 polo. When the lights are switched on (and the key out of ignition) all works ok. When the key is turned the clock lights go out, the adjustable dial works on the blue light and the headlights are reversed. The high beam indication is on when high beams are off. I have heard about an earth fault but this only started after I removed the dash surround, no other wiring has been touched.
  9. Hi, I have a Y reg 6n2 polo and have a couple of problems. Firstly, the temperature gauge is faulty as it normally stays around 0 and occasionally might go up to 90 and then will drop down again. Also, after driving after 10 or so minutes, the dashboard gets quite hot, even when the heater is turned off. On long journeys, it gets unbearable and have to open a window. Could these be linked? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Jack
  10. I replaced the aftermarket JVC head unit in my 1998 VW Polo 1.6 with a a Sony Xplod head unit. During the install, I noticed that with the illumination (blue and white) wire that the dashboard lights stayed on so I disconnected this wire. The stereo appeared to work fine, came on with ignition ok and switched off ok. The next morning, the VW barely started, and the clock had reset to 00:00. I removed the stereo head unit at this time. I left the car for a few hours and then started it again only to find that all the dash instruments now appeared to be dead. The clock and odometer displays were completely blank and the rev, speedo, fuel and temperate gauges stuck to 0. I have recharged the battery and and checked the fuses which all look ok. What is the next step/s to look at fixing this issue? Thanks in advance! TL;DR VW Polo 1998 - instruments panel not working following stereo head unit swap.
  11. Hi all, I have a 1999 T reg mk3 Polo petrol and the dashboard has failed completely. No gauges, backlighting or warning lights. I took it to the garage and they weren't able to fix it so they sent the dash cluster to a specialist for repair but they couldn't fix it either. Apparently it needed a new part that wasn't a cost effective option. I'm a bit stuck because the MOT is due next week and I need the car. Is it possible to remove the dashboard cluster from a scrap car and plug it straight in or will it need programming? I appreciate that the odometer won't be right but will all the gauges and lights work? Has anyone on here had a similar problem or do you know of anyone who could repair it for a reasonable price? Many thanks for all your help with my first post!
