    Polo 9n gt egr help

HELP !! Polo 9n GT tdi 130pd BLT engine 2005 I need to know what egr is needed for this engine and if it’s the one that has the anti shudder valve as I have this plug hanging around and now engine management light on and has been mapped out and that but you can’t map the eml out ... Ps it has a egr delete It I think it’s the wrong one as I think it should have the asv attracted as that’s what the cable is for...... when I did the delete that plug was never plugged in and there was no asv there either
  2. hi can anyone advise me on replacing a bme engine, the only bme engine i can get hold of is the newer one without the egr valve, the engine in the car has an egr, will there be any issues with the ecu running the engine without the egr?
  3. Hi all I was looking for a little advice regarding my 2010 1.6tdi. It's been losing coolant over that last few months, not massive amounts but I'm having to top up from min to max every 500 - 700 miles or so. I've checked the following and can confirm: No evidence of leak on the drive No steam from exhaust No rough idle No sweet smells in the cabin No contamination of oil on the cap or dip stick No hiss from coolant tank when engine is cold. I've taken it to a garage for a pressure test and they say they couldn't find any external leaks. They've suggested it's either a head gasket problem or the EGR cooler. Both extremely expensive and they can't say for sure which one is causing the problem, so I might spend the money only to find the problem still exists. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I asked them to do a head gasket sniffer test, but they said because my coolant tank looks stained/dirty it wouldn't be able to give an accurate indication?? If anyone is able to offer some advice, I'd be forever in your debt. Thanks
  4. Hi, Could someone please tell how I would go about removing the EGR valve on my 6N2? Thanks
  5. Hi everyone, I have a 6n2 Polo (2000 facelift model) 1.4 16v 75bhp. I am pretty new to understanding 'modern' engines (more into the flat 4 aircooled) Now i know there is an EGR system, compromising of the main valve near the front of the engine on the passengers side. Mine has a round disc body with a single braided hose spout. (mine is now missing) This went to a plastic assembly mounted on the side of the engine block which i believe is the EGR valve Solenoid? Here is a pic of the assembly http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Pierburg-Valve-Egr-Exhaust-Control-for-Audi-Ford-Seat-VW-7-21483-54-0-/111242673119?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AVW|Model%3APolo&hash=item19e6947bdf Now originally mine also had a small plastic round cap/sniffer? component on a small section of braided hose which 'hung' from the assembly on a plastic bracket. That has fallen off, and i think my mechanic blocked off the small hose section instead. I just CANNOT find this part (sniffer thingy) anywhere on the internet to buy! It is pictured in my Haynes manual ( 2B*9 pic 9.6 - visible under the spanner) Also does anyone have a diagram of where the hoses all should go for the system to be correct (as per when it left the forecourt). That would be splendid! Cheers guys, Pauly
  6. Hello people so I had my 1.0 polo 6n2 for over 5 months now, my engine light has been on since. One thing I cannot get rid of is this most annoying fault code ever. Code 17811 EGR System: Regulation divergence: P1403, I have swapped 2 EGR valves, cleaned throttle body and egr valve pipe. Dont know what else to do any ideas? I have also included the picture of the error code.
