  3. Hi everyone. I think my fuel pump is dead. At first I thought I'd ran out of fuel so put 2 Jerry cans in but still won't start. You here the pump prime when turn the ignition on but if disconnect the hose at the the inlet only get fuel if you suck it I don't recommend this! I know I can't get a new like for like so will need to use a universal. Any suggestions or advice would be a great help please. Thanks guys.

    Jordan's MK2F breadvan

    Hi all been wanting to do one of these for a while but only just got the chance i bought my mk2f breadvan from stockport around september 2017 & it's been an on going daily project ever since. i painted it blue with graffiti paint lowered it on an ebay lowering kit & started doing shows in 2018. after blowing the first 1l engine up i did a quick engine change to another 1l for under £100 just to keep the car on the road. comes to november 2018 time & i wanted to start a winter build. started with painting the car, the car is now melon yellow - done with montana graffiti cans. yes i painted over the windows because i liked the look of a panel van & couldn't be bothered trying to track down some actual panels. bought a GT conversion with the 5 speed short ratio box, stainless manifold and a few extra bits. i liked the idea of having brand new parts even if the old ones were fine.. driveshafts, front coilovers, top mounts, bottom arms, track rod arms/ends, ARB Blocks etc. this build isn't the best thing ever but certainly is a eye catcher & i love the thing aha. this car is built to what i like... not what other people think. if i listened to everyone else it'd be sat here with a 40/60 lowering kit on bbs hahaa STRIP - DROP - RATTLE - ROLL (a motto i like to use from a club called DUBRATZ) if anyone has any questions feel free to ask. photos may not be in order the car currently isnt finished & i'm waiting for a few parts to arrive, i've just bought a new bonnet & wings as ones on the car had dents. follow me on insta: _jordoan_

    Mk2f gt judder

    Got a judder coming from the front/ nearside front when pulling away. It feels like an engine mount but I've replaced the lower one with a golf rallye unit a while ago. Tia , Michael.
  6. My dipstick levels have always been up and down for the past 4 years - can a blocked crankcase breather cause this? Always checked when car is level. Also, I've always run the dipstick to show the hatched area upwards when pulled out, but when inserted 'upside-down' the level shows halfway down in comparison - a big difference to get right: what's the correct orientation? (I keep it topped up but have recently been running a little lower in case I'm unknowingly overfilling - but then it runs noisy. It's currently about 5-7mm over the hatched area and runs fine - might be overfilled but presumed inaccurate..)
  7. my 3f conversion failed the mot today , 10% co at 10% its running fairly normal , sounds and drives "okay" so i gets home and mess with the afm , i can get it lower towards a pass , but it just hates it a pops and bangs and really doesnt like it all all service parts new /good , o2 unplugged,temp sender looks good on scanner , tried another afm , messed with ign timing etc checked all i can think off , cant really get my head round why it wants to run so rich and wont /struggles near normal readings
  8. I'm looking for a new set of rear springs for my mk2f gt breadvan. The ones i took off were two different sizes in length. Also are the g40 rear springs shorter in length then the GT rear springs? Many thanks.

  10. Abd 3f injection. Start the car and runs fine for 3 or 4 min then idles low and cuts out, wont repond to throttle when chugging and ramind this way on restart unless left Any ideas
  11. just posting this to document it really early mk2 round headlight 3f ecu made by bosch , part number ending J , see it has lots of surface mount parts , general better quality feel to it later mk2f 3f K made by ken? less surface mount parts and these burnt /manually fitted parts seem the norm as we opened up another and its the same , the J one is mint

  13. earlier this year ive fitted full 3f mpi injection to my previously refreshed abd , still not running 100% and i decided to re seal the inlet mani incase it was leaking i gets it off and find the number 1 end is oily . not dripping but a good wet coating of clean engine oil thing is all breathers are vented elsewhere so i dont really get where on earth it could have come from ?

  16. So i have just swapped over the servo on my 91 GT, the servo was being dodgy and removing the old one revealed some major rust had taken hold on it. Anyway i've fitted a replacement servo, taken off a 2f, i haven't adjusted anything on this new servo. My car is running a rear disc setup, with VW2 fronts and a 22mm master cylinder, this has all been fitted for a couple of years and been working perfectly. With the new servo fitted, the brake pedal sits lower than the clutch pedal (they used to sit level), and the point at which the pedal goes solid is also lower. These i can live with, but the pedals new position is too low to switch off the brake lights, so they stay permanently on. I have taken apart the old servo, and the only adjustment i can see is on the master cylinder side, which would change the bite point, but not where the pedal sits at rest. Being honest i'm stumped, its like its not seated correctly on the bulkhead, but the three mounting bolts are tight, look even and none of it looks crooked. I have released the master from the servo to check its not that, and the pedal indeed is still incorrect with no master. I can only think i'll have to strip it off again and compare with the old servo/check its seating. But before i do, anyone have any bright ideas? Thanks guys

  18. Hi my mk2f 1ltr breadvan has a problem . Did not start yesterday so i check battery and it was flat as first i thought i left lights on or radio but i never . So i put in new battery and fired up straight away but i noticed after i switched of ignition off i could still here fuel pump running not sure why so i switched it back on ignition and it stopped. I repeated the on off with ignition and same thing happened fuel pump still running after i turned off the till ignition again . So i assume this is why i had a flat battery as its was still doing its thing after i switch car off and going into the house , hence flat battery next day. Advice please. Many thanks.
  19. Hi so over the weekend i managed to fit my 4-2-1 branch manifold on my gt and imasaf full exhaust system from Germany and i must say its a vast improvement . So I'm looking on advice on what other improvements i can make ? Advice is welcome please. Is it advisable that i use exhaust tape what ever its called on the 4-2-1 manifold ? might be difficult now its in but sure i can manage if needed. Thank you.
  20. abd engine that previously ran fine on carb fitted all 3f mpi bits except the cam starts from cold and sounds normal , quickly starts to sound rough with a unhappy idle , with the blue sender undone it runs worse ive attempted to set up the timing but unsure if the rough idle effects it..above idle it sounds better and drives semi okay when hot it will not restart - after one hour it starts again tried 2x temp senders , new coil , ecu and (correct)dizzy works on my mates gt ,car has no o2 sensor at present, fuel pumps are running when it refuses to hot start ive about reached the end of my knowledge and unsure what to do now

    GT wannabe

    Hi everyone! I became a owner of some fine looking machine. It cost me 500 euros with two sets of wheels with winter and summer tires on them, and two original keys with alarm, GT interior with few parts missing, service book almost like new, custom made exhaust and 1.3 AAU engine inside. Whole car was repainted but I noticed rust in the few places but for that price I must do something myself I have bought third set of wheels, some BBS copy ACT wheel. 7.5J 15, ET 38. It fits perfectly with some yokohama 195/45 tires. I still need to get the car down for a bit and repaint those wheels. Here are some pics of the car.

    Seeking my old Mk2f

    Hi guys and girls I'm hoping someone can help me. I sold my Mk2f polo back in late 2016/ early 2017. It was FOX coupe in blue that was originally 1.0 but I converted it to a 1.3 GT engine with some mods, Piper Cam, Bigger intake and a few other mods. I'm sure the guy who bought it off me was from eBay by the name of George. I'd love to have that car back as it was one of the nicest I have driven. If anyone has any information or can point me in the right direction I would be very greatful, Maybe even some pint money! If you could ask around any groups or friends that break polo's etc The REG is L468 SYJ and it is not taxed, MOT'ed or Insured Thanks again

  25. Found a camshaft for a 1.3 and the numbers on the shaft between the lobes is 030 9c is this a GT camshaft
