For sale is my much loved low mileage polo. Requires new front callipers as these are seized. Also front wishbones. I was planning on doing this work but got side tracked with a new project. I have used the polo as a doner so it no longer has front seats, stereo, private plate or alloys shown in pictures. It is on some 5 spoke alloys now. If the battery was charged this would start and run fine cirrent plate is Y758 GAA Welcome to bring jump leads and get it fired up. Lots (but not Full) Service history. Good tyres. Alloys alone worth £100. Will need to be trailered/towed away. Any questions please ask. Open to offers. Potentially swap for some

  2. Noticed on Saturday evening that some toe rag has picked the silver G & T off my 2016 GTI front grill badge! Have ordered a replacement but in the meantime wondering how straightforward replacing the badge will be? Is this a simple job or does the whole grill have to come out first? Any tips to avoid snapping anything greatly appreciated!

Volkswagen Polo GTI - Unmodified 2000 Plate 77,417 Miles Full Service History MOT - 04.07.2018 Climatronic climate control Factory HID Headlights Remote Central Locking Electric Windows Full Documents with 2X Keys 1X Emergency Key New genuine alternator and aux belt New battery Last oil and filter change with genuine parts - 11.11.2017 The car has a couple of small scuffs but overall in very good condition for its year, it has become a very rare and sought after model. Very good on fuel and easy to insure. The car is listed on the logbook as "Damaged, Uneconomical to Repair", this was due to an incompetent van driver who reversed into the door causing very minor but noticeable dents. The door and wing have since been replaced; I can provide photographic proof of this. The only known fault on this car is the air re-circulation flap on the heater box clicks sometimes, i have been assured this is the motor that needs replacing which i will provide with the car, this does not affect the functionality whatsoever. £1800 ONO

  4. Wondering if anyone could help on this. I’ve recently bought a 9N3 GTI, it’s had a new battery fitted within the last month or so and it keeps going flat. I’ve taken the negative wire off and done a drain test, it’s draining at 4-4.5amp, so the battery goes flat in no time. Haven’t had the time to start pulling out fuses, but wondered if anyone else has had any similar issues? Any help would be appreciated. All lights are off, boot light is disconnected etc.

    Hello all - 6n2 GTi 2001

Hi everyone, I'm Billy. Just bought this GTi 1.6 16v off a local girl near me in Preston. Collecting it Saturday so more pics to follow. Ive had a few breadys, a Mk3, a Coupe S, a bug and a T2 over the last 10 years or so but not owned a VW for the last 18 months. Its nice to be back in the right circles again. The car is well looked after, factory leather and Sat Nav, original wheels and original paint. A few stone chips on the body need sorting and no doubt a cam belt, service, and fluids change later this month. Im not sure what route to go down with it this winter, OEM or Mods. I'll probably keep it as stock as poss with a few discreet improvements for now, but that might change in time. It's good to be back with a VW
  6. A happy new year to all. I hope you can help me with the following, or point me towards one of your members who may be able to assist? I am currently in need of a 2015 1.8 Polo GTi, 3DR for photography and laser scanning work. MT is preferred, but DSG would also be ok. I would take photos and videos of the car exterior, interior, light displays and also have a wheel removed by trained staff and the car lifted up on a vehicle lift to allow photography and filming of the underside. The work would take place at a secure car storage facility in Hampshire, and would take approximately 5 hours to complete. The work is of a confidential nature, so would appreciate your discretion, but I can say that all work would be covered under Sony corporate insurance arrangements. We would like to undertake this work in the next 4-6 weeks if possible. We would be happy to pay the owner all petrol costs at 40p per mile, lunch on the day, and also a payment of £500 for the use of the car for the day. Please let me know if you have any questions on the above, and I look forward to your feedback when possible. Many thanks in advance for your assistance. best regards, Simon Roberts simon.roberts.pdi[AT]g mail[DOT]com

    Cutmore's GTI

Welcome to my thread for my Polo GTI. Technically I've never left Polo ownership since 2009, my first car was a 6n2 which I still own. Since since then I've owned some shocking vehicles, two Vauxhall Corsas & a Peugeot 307SW I suppose have to be the worst. So after my Fabia vRS kept throwing bill after bill at me, I decided enough was enough. I looked at nearly new Polo GTI's, which were oddly enough more expensive than buying a brand new one. Choosing the spec was a bit of a difficult one for me, I didn't want to over spec as with VW, and any manufacture I suppose, additions soon add up and you are soon up to Golf money! But obviously I didn't want to buy a new car and regret not speccing it well enough for the next 3 years or however long I keep it, so I want with the convenience pack & sport pack. I cannot imagine many drastic modifications to the car to be honest, the idea of going with a new car was to make the most of a warranty. Well anyway, photos: DSC_0636 by Ryan Cutmore, on Flickr DSC_0642 by Ryan Cutmore, on Flickr DSC_0643 by Ryan Cutmore, on Flickr 20170704_200725 by Ryan Cutmore, on Flickr And one of my first Polo, as you can see it hasn't had much use lately. 20170520_153851 by Ryan Cutmore, on Flickr

    6n2 GTI cams

Hi there recently bought my 2nd polo, got myself a 6n2 gti. Currently have the cylinder head off replacing the head gasket, valve stem seals, porting the head, new belt ,water pump and a couple of other small repairs. However since it's off I was looking into some performance cams. It's a long shot but is anybody breaking their 6n2 and has cams or know of anyone with a set, Thanks in advance

  14. Hello everybody! I swapped my 1.0 AER engine to a 1.6 16V AVY, replaced the engine loom, the ecu, the chip in my keys, and the little receiver around the ignition barrel, (and a lot of other stuff, like pedal box, etc) but I couldn't replace the immo box, because my loom has 6 cables, and the donor car's box has 8. (I have a 98 model, so I have the later wiring) Is there a way to connect the new immo to the car without a professional? Or what should I do? Thank you in advance!

    17' Polo GTI mods?

New to this site so hoping I'm doing this right. I own a 2017 Polo Gti and am looking to do a few mods to make it different. Looking for some websites or any pointers / advice. Was going to upload a pic of my car but seems to be too large an image size...
  16. hey hope someone can help, for past few weeks my window wipers have been getting slower and slower and ofcourse now they have completely stopped and are stuck halfway up the window now that the rain is back. I was reading a few forums that said about stripping them down as the linkage is probably just seized but i’m wondering if it’s worthwhile just buying a new motor and linkage incase stripping them doesn’t work. Anyone else had any issues and if so any advice/tutorials would be great. Thanks
  17. I’m going to be changing my inner tie rods and also my rear wishbone bushes on my 9n3 GTI i was just wondering if anyone has bought or knows of the correct tools for doing each, ive seen a few for sale on ebay but sellers can’t confirm if they will work on the 9n3 GTI. Thanks
  18. Hi again. So after chatting on here and trying to solve the problems on starting after refuelling. I’ve got some questions and hope someone can help out!?!! 🙂 So each time I refuel I have problems starting. Sometimes it happens when it’s warm and I’ve turned it off and tried to start again a short time after. Once it does fire up I get a really rich smell with a cloud of light smoke out the back. Someone said it sounds like the pressure regulator. Because I’ve established that the fuel pump is working properly. Any one else had issues like this? Please help. G
  19. Hello. Been the proud owner of a 6n2 gti for about 2 years now. Had some intermittent starting issues recently especially when re feeling. I was told it could be the duel fuel pumps. Not sure as I never managed to get a definite answer!! Any ways. I’ve been looking at doing an engine swap. I’m a weekend mechanic with limited experience. I’m sure I couldn’t do it and get it right. Got a quote from one company that do it all in! £10k!! So that’s out the window. Does anyone have any suggestions. I don’t want to spend too much! But I love this car!!! Help. Gary
  20. driving the other day and suddenly I lossed all power, 'EPC' light lit up on the dashboard and exhaust was smoking (White) pretty badly. Turned the car off, 30 seconds later turned the car on and it was running fine? No light on the dash, no smoke, no power loss, so just continued on. Wasn't hammering it or anything, was just normal driving when this was happening. Car is stage 2 so has a lot of different mods. any ideas what it could be?

Polo 6n2 GTI - twin colored

Originally I joined as I got a 1.4 16v coupe 6n2 as a backup car. I have a 3.0tdi A6 that I like to tinker with a lot, and still have a ton of electrical issues with it, the most significant being related to a manual to automatic transmission swap... so I do tend to keep it at a shop a lot. Also it did proove not much practical for a daily use. But as my mother’s 6n2 gave birth to all of its fluids, I decided to give her mine and get something better, as I was already looking at a possible engine swap for the 1.4... As a result I got a pretty sweet GTI. I did’t expect much. Got it from a dealer, which was already a bad omen , but the car was in a surprisingly good visual condition. It hasn’t been driven since at least an year (January 2017) with less then 7000km done in 2016. I got it on 138 000km, and its last history is from Switzerland from 2013 at 118 000km. It is kinda believable that it could have done only 20 000km in 2014 and 2015, but here rewinding the milage is still very much a thing. Still it looks like being close to that arlt least. The car had its gearbox repaired while at the dealer. Everything else was in order. Of course for the first several days there were no brakes , until the calipers remembered how to work. I got it from another city, so it wasn’t the smartest idea to bring it home directly after sitting for so long, but it performed flawlessly. Of course by Murphy’s law, exactly on the next day, I got the ABS lamp on, and a bit after that the Engine check on also. Thse were because of a rear light speed sensor and a misfire in cilinder 1. Alongside the standart service, I changed the spark plugs, the spark leads and the spark coil and the speed sensor. But still occasionally (I think when I sit in traffic) it does log a misfire, which I can’t even register. Will do a compression check next year before installing the LPG system, as nothing else looks suspicious. The only other issue it had was that the left window didn’t work, while from the driver’s door I could only open the passenger’s windows with both positions of the switch. Also the central locking button on the door could lock the car but couldn’t unlock it. Today I repaired it by fixing a cut wire between the door and the body. What I plan to do with the car: - repaint the red parts - the current paint job is ridiculous and I’m not sure I like that it is not metallic. - repaint the calipers - also pretty badly done - reupholster the steering wheel with red stiches and reupholster the ceiling - update all the speakers (some are torn) - get 14” alloys as it came with 15” ones, and my winter tires are 14... Will keep the 15 for the summer - soundproofing - that is a must. Not only for better audio, but also for the rare cases where I need to get it on the highway... It really lacks a 6th gear - refurbish the headlights and get new blinkers - fix the hooks for the rear seats, because, of course, they both tore the moment I tried them - at some point I’ll add rear speakrs and an amp - as mentioned above - LPG system with lightweight bottle.
  22. hi , ive been told its at the back of the engine , starter motor needs to come off , but ive had her on ramps and still cant locate the sensor or the starter motor, any help??

    Jack's Polo GTI

Hey guys im new to the forum, here is my stage 2 polo running 240hp :
  24. For some strange reason my radiator is pulsing on and off with just the ignition on and with the car running checked all the fuses but every thing seems fine its a 6n2 gti
  25. Hello everyone. This is my first post here and I can say that I came here for a desperate situation that I've been through in the last days. So my car is a 2000 6n2 gti 1.6 16v engine and I bought it last year. Everything ok at the beginning until one day (about 2 months after I bought it) I noticed the clutch was slipping a bit (the car had 4 people and luggage) . So I always thought that soon I would need a new clutch. In the past couple weeks I was having fun with some mates at the roadway and after that, the clutch started to whine (nothing super loud, radio could perfectly "cover" that noise). Yesterday night I got in my car, I put the 1st gear and some metallic noises started to come from the clutch (not sure if it's the clutch) and my car lost a lot of power specially on hills (clutch slipping). Now I try to drive it and it's almost impossible, the noise it's incredibly loud, everything cracks down there and everytime I change a gear, it vibrates a lot. Now even on neutral, it whines loud and I looked under the car and it's leaking oil from the clutch housing hole (not a lot, some black drops) when the engine is running. So, yea, I think it's easy to conclude that my clutch is completely fried and I need a new one, but what about the oil? Where does it come from? Is the gearbox done for good? Take note that since I turned off my car the last time I cannot put any gear, even whit the clutch pedal pressed. Any tip, advice, technical information would be greatly appreciated. Sorry about my English. Best regards from Lisbon - Portugal Ricardo :)
