  1. Hi all. Im a new member and proudly received my silver sticker and key ring of approval today. I bought a mk2f polo coupe 1.0 fox a couple of months ago from a lovely chap in Brighton. The car had without doubt seen better days but it had only covered 42k and i just happened to fall for it ❤ haha. Here she was the dayi bought her. And ill upload the pictures of its journey from this to what she looks like now.
  2. Hi guys, I've got a few of my motors that need re-spraying and hoping to get some recommendations for bodyshops/ retired guys spraying in their garage etc Ideally someone who can do basic mechanical work, so an all in service would be great. Given number of cars need to be price driven on this one, do not want a show finish, a decent job without tonnes of overspray. Based in the midlands but willing to get transported. some are colour change, some need more filling than others, I understand 'how longs a piece of string' but based on a saloon sized car with basic prep will give me an idea. Ta!

    '98 Polo 6n 1.0 L Full Respray

Hello, thought I'd share with Club Polo, me and my dads project of respraying my first car, a 1998 Polo 6N 1.0L. Short story of how it ended up in my ownership... It's one owner from new, an old bloke bought it brand new back in November 98, and ran it till he gave up driving a couple of years ago, and it was salvaged by my dad, as I was basically about to turn 17, I asked him if I could have it, it was either a Polo or 1999 fiesta, I chose the polo because its interior was clean as whistle, basically brand new because of the seat covers. The outside however... it was parked up under a tree for over a year, so there was a serious amount of green which came off the car when it was steam cleaned. I passed my test at the end of January and off I was in my little red polo! 2 months later... I'm pretty sick of the bodywork on the car now, the lacquer was already coming off everywhere, and its just an eye-saw. Dad told me to get prepping the outside, so i roughly sanded most of the car off in a day. drove it around for a bit with the 'rat look'. Now though is where the final preparations are taking place for it to be painted... I say final preparations, turns out the car is obliterated with tiny little dents everywhere as we sand it down, these all have to be filled up of course because my dads a perfectionist and clearly doesn't want to spoil his reputation when I'm a driving around example of his work (he prepares and resprays cars for a living by the way). The original colour of the car is (i believe) 'Flash Red', we're painting it in Alfa Romeo Rosso red, because he has loads left over from painting a Alfa Sprint Veloce. I reckon this will make it look pretty sharp. Today... I fitted FK Automotive Coilovers all round, bought them from a nice bloke called Matt in Lee-on-Solent, also bought some Golf Mk2 GTI 14" Steels from him, tried those out on the car and they look awesome with the car lowered too. That's about as far as we've got at the moment. Will update and include pictures ASAP. Thanks for reading : )

    Rust

Hey guys I am having some issue with rust on my arches of my 6n2. Could anybody supply me with a full list of supplies and a step by step method for sorting the rust using rattle cans if possible. If not what would I need for using correct spray equipment (I have nothing)

    6n2 gti build

I've had my polo for around two years now, I brought it over from England after deciding it was what I wanted but not being able to find one for sale in Northern Ireland. It stayed pretty much how it was with only minor changes and tidying up a few things along the way. Dubshed 2013 (wheels borrowed) I had always wanted to do more with the car but never did anything about it until recently, I got a set of BBS RS 070's 15x7 et16 in exchange for my set of BBS E30'S which I set about refurbing. fitted them to see how they would sit split them, shot blasted the centres and sent the dishes to get polished, ordered half height caps and red and gold badges. then tested out a colour on the centres that I'm more than happy with so just need to get them painted and order bolts for them whilst this was happening I also set about getting the car ready for paint, I had always felt that the car needed painted properly as long as I've had it. stripping marking dents, scratches and silicon marks keying the whole car roughly then its onto the stage that I'm still at, filling dents and sanding. hope to have the car ready for Dubshed this year and ill try to keep this up to date to let you all see how we are getting on..
