    Polo 9n 1.9tdi PD Sport

    Just upgraded to my next Polo. Wanted a quicker one which I has more scope for mods so I bought this without even going to see it. Only has 46k miles on and has the bulletproof 1.9tdi PD engine. This one also is my favourite colour. I get my licence back in September ( I lost it for medical reasons) but in the meantime I have done some subtle mods which I will continue to do until I can start going all out with engine tuning, new brakes etc (insurance companies won't allow me to do so yet). So so far I have added: Montreal 2 alloys Few stickers Sony stereo New interior lighting Number plate lights New heater control knobs 9n3 GTI gear stick I have also just purchased a 9n3 GTI steering wheel, it sounds strange putting Gti trim into a diesel but I like the OEM style of things. I can easy remove the Gti badge and replace with a blank badge. Will be more photos to come and any feedback would be much appreciated.
  2. Got this car for a few parts, now selling the rest. The car is black, not sure the paint code. All parts are located outside Kirriemuir, Scotland. Things I have left: Loads of interior trim parts - All of them £10 Full sport seats front and back - £40 ATD engine, lost the service history but got loads of other paper work like parts, MOTs etc. This includes the turbo, intake, all boost piping, everything but alternator - £100 02R gearbox - £30 Gear selector - £15 Vacuum solenoid - £10 Indicator stalks with scroll buttons for dash computer - £15 Fog lights, has one of the mounting points broken off, but will be fine with the other 2, also include plastic surroudnings - £20 Door cards - £15 Driveshafts - £40 Hubs - £30 Nearside door inc. glass - £30 Tailgate - £30 Got a brand new offside wing - £30 Just PM if there is any other parts you need, might have forgotten something.   3. Hi All, Looking at a couple of small performance upgrades on my 75bhp 6n2 (even though I said I wouldn't......) Toying with the idea of fitting either a 100bhp or a GTi inlet manifold and throttle body. Before I hit the buy button, can anyone confirm that these parts will fit straight on to my 75bhp without any major modifications being needed?

    RS Clio Trophy #387

    BLURB Mazda is gone - too slow, too much rust and not enough seats/space. Was fun whilst it lasted but not a keeper. Currently breaking it (as I do) and I've spent the money on a replacement. I had a Clio 182 Cup for 7 years and you literally can't buy anything cheaper that is so much fun. I did look at EP3 Type R's but by all accounts they are a little number, too heavy and most seem to be really leggy. Also looked at some older Honda's but scene tax has made sure a good EG/EK Civic is serious money. I was originally looking for a car in the £1500-2500 range that would be suitable for daily driving, B-road blasts and the odd trackday/hillclimb/sprint. Nothing too nice that I'd want to baby. One night when browsing eBay I came across a Clio Trophy for £3750. Currently these are trading for between £6500-£16000 depending on condition and miles...so it appeared to be a bit of a bargain. Must be a reason.... cam belt was done, service history was good, not Cat C/D, Sachs suspension refurbished and waiting to be refitted...125k miles....ah 125k miles! But then if it has been looked after that's only 10k a year....so not bad at all really... Thought it worth a punt so booked a flight to Manchester (£70) train to Liverpool (£8) and the boy picked me up from the station and took me back to the Wirral. Money was exchanged and drove backup the same day; stopping at Doune to catch the tail end of the hill climb. Totally standard car bar: Koni adjustable rear dampers, Eibach Sportline lowering springs, Espace V6 air box, Scorpion RS192 stainless exhaust, Nankang RS2 tires and I think that's about it...that's on top of the standard Trophy spec. of Speedline Turini wheels, Clio V6 spoiler, Recaro trendlines and silly expensive Sachs remote reservoir dampers. It's a little tatty here and there. Some parking dings, little chip of paint here and there and some kerbing on the wheels. Worst part of the car is probably the bubble of rust at the front of the bonnet where it has been closed on something but you barely notice it. Have been driving it to work which it's fine for and I've had it on a couple of b-road jaunts. Utter banter - so much fun! Can't wait to get the Sachs dampers back on with the addition of some camber bolts at the front...then hopefully get to Fintray Hillclimb in May. Dampers were rebuilt by Rik Perry who I'm told works for one of the F1 teams. Shafts are coated in some sort of hard diamond based substance, adjusters de-pinned so they can be used (locked from factory) and lastly dyno'd with a print out and sheet telling you exact numbers of clicks for each side to have them the same...which in this case is 22 and 23...nerdy!     wgdm's 9n FSI Sport

    Hello fellow Polo owners/enthusiasts, I'm Will, I am fairly new to the forum and I am the proud owner of a 9n series polo. I passed my driving test in May and bought my polo as my first car back in early June. So far I've only managed to do some minor mods as my insurance provider is really strict where aftermarket modifications are concerned. I'm running the polo on a reasonably limited budget, but I have started saving for some nice alloys and coilovers etc. I admit that this is more of me showing off my car than a build thread, but it is a build in (very slow) progress anyway. I hope that I can make it look even better than it is currently, once I can ditch my restrictive and in my opinion awful black box insurance. (I'm with Ingenie). Any suggestions of mods I could do when I get around to it would be welcome and appreciated. - Basic Information - Model: 2004 9n Engine: 1.4 FSI petrol Suspension: standard factory sport trim suspension with the 40mm factory drop. (It's practically slammed, right?) Brakes: discs all around. Wheels and Tyres: factory Melbourne alloys. Exterior Styling: black paint, Top Gear and ClubPolo stickers, red brake callipers and LED Sidelights. Interior Styling: tailored floor mats, blue sidelights. ICE and Security: Alpine BT mechless head unit, Fli trap 12 subwoofer, standard factory alarm. - Pictures -

    The daily beater

    Our beloved 6n was rear-ended and written off on Saturday evening, so we went out and bought a 9n 1.4 FSI Sport the following day as a replacement. The 6n was an absolute gem of a car - handled great and was cheap and cheerful to run. We'd spent a wee bit of money on it over the past year, replacing worn parts and upgrading the aesthetics with a set of G60 steels and a subtle lowering. So the demise of said car was - and still is - a sad affair, especially as it had grown on me so much I was intending on retiring it in the next year or so for a full rebuild alongside my Mk3 Golf ABF. Anyways, after spending some time looking at various replacements, we concluded that we couldn't agree on an ideal replacement; she wanted a Beetle, I wanted a sensible Mk4 Golf GT TDI as we cover a ton of miles between us each week... So in the end we both compromised and settled on an '04 9n 1.4 16v FSI Sport. So far, despite being comfortable and spacious, I can't help but miss the 6n, it's simplicity and handling, but I'm sure the more modern and already more economical 9n will grow on us in no time. The main plans are to replace a few worn parts, give it a damn good detailing and look into any minor engine upgrades such as porting, remapping, etc. In the long term, I fancy sourcing some OEM Audi or VW 17s and lowering it accordingly, colour code the rub strips and possibly upgrade the brakes to fill the larger diameter wheels. It'll never be a show car, so don't expect air-ride and Rotiform splits with super-stretched rubber :) Over the next few days I'll be cleaning and fixing, so I'll update with better pictures along the way.   7. Hi Everyone, having just acquired my new car (Mk2 Polo Coupe S 1990 1.3), I now need a new exhaust. I don't want a loud, lairy, banging and popping exhaust. Although I like the sound, thats not my thing. I'd piss off the neighbours too. So, What I'm looking for is a set up that adds a teeny weeny bit of volume, enough to make your head turn, and something that adds some performance. Feel free to recommend other engine mods that might help. Budget wise, As much as I would like to throw a grand at it, I don't have a grand. But, I would rather spend a bit more and get a proper job than anything else. So, recommend away. You can probably guess that my mechanical ability is limited. Hi, I have been pondering a while about getting my VW Polo 1.9 TDI 2003 remapped to 130 bhp (same as Polo 1.9 TDI GT) I was wandering though if there is any technical or part differences in brakes, gear box or clutch etc for the increased power as I dont want to destroy my Polo! I appreciate any help what so ever! Thanks for your time!
