  1. I am looking to contact the owner of what was my first car 1990 Volkswagen Polo Ranger 1.3 5-speed in Tornado Red LY3D (REG: G573VNS VIN: WVWZZZ802LY169919). It is now showing as being untaxed and without MOT so I am concerned for it's future and would like to buy it back before the opportunity to do so evaporates forever. It's last known location was Swaffham (PE37) near Norfolk in January 2018. It changed hands a couple of times around Edinburgh and Glasgow around 2012-2014 before ending up in Norfolk. Here is a RetroRides for sale listing that I found from April 2016, I will drop them a message on there shortly. I later found it for sale on eBay in December 2016, the second photo is taken from the listing. I believe the car was purchased from the eBay seller by an Andrew or their son. Since then it has had G60 steel wheels, an aftermarket steering wheel installed and stickers applied but as I said it is now untaxed and without MOT. In April 2016 it had an MOT performed in Knaresborough, Harrogate. Any information would be much appreciated. If you are the owner, or know them, or know the cars location please contact me on here or drop an email to ThridLaneMotors@gmail.com In Swaffham: G573 VNS by Kevin Miller, on Flickr On eBay in December 2016: Look what I found: G573 VNS by Matt S, on Flickr

    L468 SYJ 1993 Polo

I was wondering if anyone knew the whereabouts of this dark blue Polo, my boyfriend sold it in August 2016 and regrets it - hoping to know the whereabouts or potential of buying it back. It had a 1.3 engine in it when sold but originally had a 1 litre which I believe was sold with it. Its MOT ran out last summer and it's currently SORNed. Hoping somebody might be able to help!

    Lesley the 86 breadvan

TOPIC DESCRIPTION: Hey there polo enthusiasts, I'm Jonny and I am now the proud owner of a 1986 breadvan called Lesley! The only catch is that I've only just turned 16 so I can't drive her for another year but the aim is to get it looking and driving respectably by the time I can drive. Model: 1986 polo c breadvan (86c) Engine: 1.0l bog standard Suspension: Standard Brakes: Standard (very spongy!) Wheels and Tyres: Standard steelies and a set of mk2 golf steelies Exterior Styling: Oem roofrack which was an option on the car back in the 80s Interior Styling: Imaculate Standard interior ICE and Security: Very little of either apart from the oem tape deck and speakers Comments: It has 80000 miles on the clock and 3 previous owners (not bad for a 29 year old car). The engine is pretty good on the whole (apart from 2 breakdowns on the way down from Bristol to Falmouth but this turned out to be a loose ignition chord so all is well now) however the body needs some work, love and attention to get her to what I want it to be. Anyway here are some pictures of her: First I gave her a very good clean to see what I was working with Next I took off the font bumper the grill and I used back to black to restore the plastics Then I removed the bump strips Finally I bought a set of mk2 golf steel wheels for £40 off eBay The boot on breadvans are huge! I'm not sure if I'm actually going to put the golf wheels on the car or refurbish them then sell them on? Let me know what you think and what you think I should do to the car. Thanks for reading
  5. Noticed a big difference in the feel of the brake pedal yesterday so I put the car up and took the wheels off to have a look.. The front off-side calliper was loose!! I found that the top slide pin was no longer holding the calliper onto the steering knuckle. Turns out the threads have been stripped and the slide pins were not it great condition either! Can anyone suggest any safe ways of repairing the existing steering knuckle? Could I repair the threads and replace the slide pins? Need help with this asap. I will buy a replacement part next month but I daily my car for work etc. and need a quick, safe temporary fix until then :(

    The 1.4TDI

Bought this wee piece last November. She's had a hard life up until now and I've spent a fair wad bringing her up to standard again. http://s192.photobucket.com/user/lmillar203/media/1EBE2593-3E67-4F5A-9FB4-92A54D22867B_zpsrgmsrjuw.jpg.html[/IMG] Paid £420 for this wee tank :)

    Polo 9n3

Hi their guys I'm new to this just signed up just wanted to know if 18 inch alloys will fit my polo 9n3 2008 also will I be able to drop it after
  8. Hi guys, First of all let me just say, this will be my first post as a Polo owner. Recently bought a 6n2 GTI in Silver for £775 with some bits done to it, but it seems that with every thing done to the car there is an opposite, bad thing that is wrong with it. Let me try and write this as simply as possible. Heaters are not blowing hot air Car doesnt get to temperature properly and fan cuts in before the needle on the dash even moves. Im losing coolant and oil slowly but i did have an oil leak which may have stopped now on its own. I have a ticking/clicking noise coming from passenger footwell which i assume is the heater matrix? When i press the bottom left button on the Climatronic i am greeted by the said clicking speeding up and being louder. Occasionally I get a bit of condensation buildup on the botom of the outside of the window, this led me to believe the tank was cracked or something hence why I bought a new one. So far, I have fully serviced the car, flushed the cooling system twice, put in some Wynns Rad flush to get any blockages out, Bought a new thermostat and fitted that as the old one had broken, bought a new expansion tank and cap as the old one is all black and maybe oily inside (not yet fitted). As this is my first polo Im not really all that knowledgeable on them as my last car was a MK2 Golf. I understand it could be the Head Gasket but I'm hoping its not... Oh, and there also semed to be quite a lot of Smoke/steam coming from the exhaust, however it is freezing cold now and i only notice it on cold starts. Cheers bais I cant be the only person thats had this issue, so any help would be a godsend.

    "That Charged Lawnmower" (1.2TSI)

Long time since I've been on here so thought i'd make a post as a few people have requested it. So this is my 3rd Polo. Previously i've had a 1.4 100bhp 6N2, a 9N3 GTI, and now this, my 1.2 TSI 6R (or the charged lawnmower as it gets called). Bought standard 3 years old, and wasn't long before i started working on it. First of all, coilovers with adjustable droplinks. Then a few little exterior touches (Fogs, splitter)and a old set of wheels i had (MAM MT1): Then had some crazy idea of running this static. Didnt last long before i destroyed the rear brake lines, so had to raise it up That was pretty much it for the outside. Next was onto the engine V V V

  14. So here's my polo again up here with another problem :( Okay been a few days since it's happened so far we've cleaned out the carbs and fuel lines seem to be okay (getting a new fuel filter soon) but when I drive it it just seem to choke with no power at all like its stalling out At idle it's fine runs fine but when you Rev up it builds up but if you keep your foot down it dies out making you take your foot off to stop it from stalling So it sounds like lack of fuel but I'm not to sure as this is my first car I've gone in depth with such as the engine change So if anyone of you polo guys can help it would mean a lot Thanks
  15. Hello, I saw this 2002 1.2 polo with a GTi front bumper and lights + GTi tyres. I am looking to buy a polo and would like this done to mine, where can I get that exact bumper and lights from? Is it hard to fit them? Picture attatched Thank you
  16. Hi guys! I am a noob and I am in need of advice. I have a 1994 1.3l mk2f polo with single point injection and am looking to do a conversion (either the GT or G40 whichever is more achievable). I was wandering what needed to be done as I can only seem to find info when done from carbs. Are all the heads interchangeable amongst the mk2f or would I need a different lump? Any advice is appreciated! I understand that this is vague so please ask questions and I will do my best to answer them. Thanks for your time! Peace. Love. Dub.

    Polo Estate 1.9SDI

Evening all... So, on the death of my breadvans gearbox which decided to destroy itself, i've decided that I'll get me a nice sensible diesel as a daily while I get the bready back in the workshop for a rebuild. So heres what I got, a 2001 Polo Estate. I guess its classed as a 6n2 even though its basically the same as the 6n estase, although neither of which really look like a 6n OR a 6n2.... Whatever. ANYWAY.... It appears that the previous owner might have been a soap dodger, so, after driving it a couple of hundred mines home with my tshirt over my nose and the windows open, I arrived home scraped a good amount of the filth off...Heres what I found underneath! Incase anyone wants to know, it cost £1000 and was at just under 75k, which I didn't mind paying given that you can find ones with twice the mileage for over a grand. Stupid really. also its the SDI so its REALLY GODDAMN ECONOMICAL. Not that quick, but I'm never in too much of a hurry to get to work on early mornings anyway, so that suits me just dandy. The previous owner debadged it too, although rather than removing the carefully, they appear to have opted for donning a suit of armour, climbing on the back on a horse, and jousting them off... Needless to say, they done a shit job. I found these mk2 badges lying about, and put them on in a vain attempt to cover the gouged paint. Decided they were shit and pulled them off a few days later. Picked up some Golf MK2 GTI steels for £20 and whacked them on. Also put on some pressed metal plates. Standard. Fitted some coilovers a bit later on, I discovered that a few weeks after buying the car that the shocks were fubar so it handled SHOCKINGLY! Anyways, these coilovers were just over £200 and did the job, so we got nice and slow and stiffened things up a lot! Anyone who's ever tried to slam a 1.9sdi will know that the sump sits a good deal lower than the subframe, so to avoid battering it on the ground for now I've left it a LITTLE higher at the front untill I can do a little engine lift or grab a shallow sump! Picked up these G60 steels as i decided it to opt for 15's and a slightly lower profile tyre than on the 14" steels pictured above. I spent a LOT of time here... ...being ill-equiped. Gave away the 14" steels, so I decided to pillage these nice scalas of my mrs' polo. Also, the keen eyed readers here will see that I pulled the bump strips off the doors too! they'd clearly fallen off before at some point and the previous owner (in their infinate wisdom) decided to stick them back with what appeared to be airfix model glue. NICE WORK. ...MORE painting happened... AND TYRES!... Went with these Nankang NS1 195/45/15 cuz I'm a massive cheapskate. I've heard people giving Nankang a load of shit, but to be honest, they're decent enough! Lets face it, if you corner too hard or fast, it doesn't matter what tyres you have, you're still in trouble. So rather than spend a fortune on tyres, that may or maynot grip any better, I decided to opt for the 'sensible priced tyres and not driving like a dick' approach. So far, it works just fine! Lovely! So heres where we're at now... I can't help but feel bothered by a few bits in the paint where that laquer has peeled so i might sort them at some point, but lets face it, probably not. As my daily, I guess it'll get a bit battered anyway. I quite like it anyway, you dont seem to see too many modded polo estates about so i've enjoyed doing something a little different! =] Any suggestions/comments are always welcome! Take care, Traa for now! (p.s. sorry for some of the accidentally sideways pictures!)

    pd100 polo 9n3 (DGR)

hey, I have been on ClubPolo for a while now and and been driving polos since I first passed my test. after doing a few mods on my first car I decided to move on to something with a bit more power. As I plan to make some big changes to to my car I thought I would start a build thread for it to keep track of my progress. This is the car when I bought it. its a pd100 1.9tdi, drove to newcastle from my hometown of leicester to get this. Needed a few bits of work but the price was worth it.

    Nick's Polly The Polo

Right then guys! Guess it's time to make a start on this build project! This is my first car and wanted to share with you al the transformation. Bought the car back in October 2013, Exactly on week after passing my driving test (which was a bonus to ditch the bus pass) Specifications Volkswagen Polo 2002 9N 1.2 12v Here's a photo the day I bought her, Original 'Sheffield Gilders' Polo! As you can see from the photo she was a little run down and tired, First steps was to give her a good old service, NGK Spark Plugs, Oil Filter, Air Filter and Castrol Magnitex Oil. But the first 'mod' was to remove the battered wheel trims, Give her the more metal look! Next, Was pressed plates, A week later, Here's what she looked like. Next was to remove the standard head unit, So I could finally 'Get me Goth on' I installed a Sony BT3100U, Allowing me to connect my IPhone 5S. So, The story goes, I was saving up for the more expensive mods, On the way back from work and sat at a junction, And a van driver runs into the back of me, Cracking the bumper. But German engineering won once again, Because his Fiat Ulasse was annihilated! German Cars 1-0 Italian Cars! This wasn't really a problem, Tie wraps for the time being and wait for the insurance pay out, But the worse was still to come... I noticed a slight misfire one morning, Popped the bonnet, Checked the connections on each pencil coil and they all seemed fine, After a multimeter test they all seemed fine, But to be on the safe side I changed all three coils. The problem then later raised a week on. Cleaned and checked all fuel injectors, Throttle body etc, and no improvements. I realised I wasn't dealing with a simple fault here, So sent it off for a diagnostic as the engine management light was on, It was low on compression in cylinder three (Later tests showed no compression) So I booked it in for an assessment at the local garage, He stripped it down and revealed some horrifying news, Somehow an exhaust valve had managed to shatter, And the piston had started to melt. Costing me £750, And a week of no car! This called for a top end engine rebuild, Which meant forking all my savings out on it, I was determined to get little Polly running again! Here's a photo mid rebuild.... That was it! Polly was running again! After the rebuild it was time to get sourcing for some wheels, Instantly fell in love with Audi Pepperpots, And managed to find a MINT set! (Cheers Sid) Offered them up to the car, I knew where this project was going Sourced some fresh rubbers, Kuhmo's to be exact, These things are like glue! After having a break from splashing stupid amounts of money on maintenance I managed to build up a small figure to crack on with mods! Managed to get my hands on a sub, A Vibe 12" 1500W, Perfect for handling the kick drums and bass guitar rifts! Now, The main part, You can't be dub with no coilovers, So they were put on order, FK Streets, Landed and fitted a week later, Dropped her by 80mm, Now she scrapes on speed bumps, I'm happy at that! Time to work on the back, De-Badge and stickers, Managed to get the back plate of the badge hydro dipped in blue skulls, Making her ass look evil! Bit of Slipknot stuff for you metal fans! Bit of blingage for add to the dub effect! On the Sheffield's 'Lowdown' scene so thought a big window sticker wouldn't be a bad idea, Seems to suit the car! The car is still an on-going project, But she's about 90% there, Just a few more interior mods and a roof rack and she'll be exactly how I want her! But for now here's a photo of where the cars at now, Watch this space for further mods! Rate or slate? Cheers! Nick666Akers.

    ETKA Online

Hi there everyone! Well, I found this today! I was on a search for parts, and I learn that there is a Online version of ETKA (Elektronischer Teilekatalog). I don't know if is it "legal" or not, but I think so. In the end, is just for consultation. You can also print the files in the Menu button. When I open it on Firefox the files are in Portuguese, but I think that the software sets up the operative system language, so for instance, if you have your os on English you should see the files on English. I didn't knew this until today. I'm really excited to start to print everything about my Polo model. Hope you guys enjoy it! Link: http://ifinterface.com/page/page3.php?langid=1 (click on "CarProg2") EDIT: In English for sure here.
  24. Hello there! I'm João, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Portugal. I've found the forum on the Google, on one of my parts search. I made my registration on May or so, but I had no time for give attention to the cause, so I let the forum for some months. Now I have some time, I already update my MKII Steilheck topic (here) and I hope now I can update this same topic at least once in a month. I bought it with 11k Km and 22 years old, and it has now almost 35k Km and it reached to his 24th spring. I hope my English is not that bad, and if you have any question please feel free to ask. EDIT: (add some information needed...) Real name: João Age: 21 Location: Portugal Polo owner, if so which? Or looking to get?: MKII Steilheck 1.0 45cv, 1989 model. Previous car history: (no previous car) Hobbies/interests: Mechanic, books, video-games. Occupation: Student. How did you hear about us?: Google is a really great friend. Anyway, I'm sorry to introduce myself just now. Cheers, João
