So I've got a 1.4 tdi 2001 polo, and there seems to be allot if slack in my accelorator pedal, it's sat way to low but it's got a short cable that isn't adjustable that runs to an electric box, which is the electric throttle, had it all off but no idea how to adjust it to make the pedal sit in the right place, any ideas?
Hey everyone, Another issue with my 96 6n. Now the throttle plate doesn't seem to open when i start the engine. At first i noticed the plate would open just enough to allow the engine to start/idle and there was a loud buzzing noise coming from the throttle body (disappeared when i unplugged it). Then the plate started rapidly flicking between the closed and slightly open position. And now the plate doesn't open at all while the engine is cranking, making it impossible to start the engine and leave it to idle. I can start the engine by putting the accelerator pedal down so i know it's an issue with the throttle body itself. I Have already replaced it for a new throttle body and have the same issue. Am i right in assuming it's a wiring fault of some kind, Bad ground, open circuit? Thanks in advance,
So I was driving down the motorway today, took my foot of the accelerator and I could hear this grinding noise. When I accelerate again, the noise goes away. The noise also goes away if i'm off the accelerator and I put the clutch down. Sounds to me as though two cogs are grinding together or kind of like the noise that the pointer makes on the wheel of fortune . All jokes aside, i'm hoping this is nothing serious but a friend of a friend (VW mechanic) has said that purely from my description, it sounds like a gearbox issue - *touches wood*. Any help would be much appreciated! Gunna get it down to my local garage ASAP but in the meantime would like to get a rough understanding of what it could be. Thanks!
Hi All, I have just started my car for the first time in a few days and found some water in the driver's side footwell. (passenger side is dry) The car didn't start particularly well (usually the case when it's been raining and i haven't used the car for a few days) but when it was running, more water appeared as i drove. It seems to be coming from near the top of accelerator pedal. I looked under the bonnet and around the arches but couldn't see any obvious signs of a leak. Does anybody know where the water might be coming from? I'm thinking it might be rainwater coming in from somewhere and hoping it's not something more mechanically serious. Any thoughts much appreciated Cheers Z
