  1. Hi All I'm he owner of a 2003 1.4 9n (75bhp version) I'm getting a load of knocking from the front end whenever i'm driving it and think it's the ARB bushes. As its my daily i don't want to take the old ones off and measure them as i think it's likely to just disintegrate in my hands, and i have no way of accurately measuring the size of the ARB to buy the right size that way. Is there a way i can check what size bushes i have? or will it be a case of buying a few different sizes and returning the ones that are the wrong size? Thanks for he advice

  3. Hey all . Firstly many thanks to the lady person that helped me here I really appreciate it. Secondly so I've done a lot of work over the last 4 days and I'm at a bit of a loss. I've changed front subframe bushes arb bushes lower suspension arms discs pads exhaust system and wheel bearings. Oh and gone from standard steel wheels 14inch to 15 vw alloys. My question is the left side of my car is now higher than the right side after measuring from floor to arch each side it's out by at least 10mm and it's very noticeable fro. Drivers seat. I've knocked the tracking out left side too since doing the work which is going to be done tomorrow. Could the tracking issue as the wheel is now toe out I believe be causing the cars higher stance that side or could it be down to the arb. Everything is seated right torqued down according to haynes manual. And as far as I know I aligned subframe bushes up perfectly with original markings from centre of old ones pins and followed leaflet instructions for new ones. I'm going to check tyre pressure now just in case but I'm lost . Hope someone can help .
  4. Hello, For starters - it's a LHD 1.05 mk2f with 5 speed gearbox and 18mm arb. So yesterday I fitted poly bushings on my MK2F anti rollbar (was a major pita, as I was doing it on a solid gravel surface and in a hurry) and noticed that the roll bar is rubbing all the way up against the gearbox's end pan and the downpipe. The oem bushings were really worn, as the washers would be constantly clunking against the tracking arm. The car is lowered (which is supposed to be) 80mm at the front, but there's still long ways till my arches and has never rubbed even going over a speed bump at a decent speed, so not really sure about the exact lowered value. I have been waiting on the better time for the arb blocks, but it is yet to come. Can you install the roll bar the 'wrong way' as it didnt come to mind to check and as I didnt have the problem before? I also had removed the roll bar before and installing it was not anywhere near as big of a problem the other time. Cheers on the first post!
  5. Hi guys. I am struggling with my exhaust manifold hitting on the arb, will the arb blocks sold in the club shop stop this problem? They say the blocks move the bar forward which to me would seem like that would sort it. Also the car is lowered so maybe they will correct the geometry aswell?
