  1. First off I’m new to all this so forgive me for any mistakes I make! Ive got a 1988 coupe s and I love the look and functionality of the original radio. Only problem is the sound quality is terrible. I’ve upgraded the two rear deck speakers to Rockford punch which has made a small difference. Front middle speaker has no wiring too it so I’m not going to use it. I’m set on keeping the original radio as it just looks right. Someone mentioned putting a modern radio in the glove box so it’s hidden but I’m not a fan of this idea as it means the original radio will be disconnected. Has anyone got any advice/ideas for adding something to enhance the audio experience. All the car amplifiers I can see are huge ‘chavvy’ bass boxes! Tia Miles
  2. Replacing the dead old rear speakers in my '93 Polo, removal was easy enough but there were only 3 clips securing each speaker so I'd like to get some more. However for the life of me I can't find the right name for the bloomin things - it seems that almost everyone installs car speakers using self-tappers and spire clips whereas here we have 4 plastic posts moulded into the rear speaker housings that you slip these little Z-shaped clips over to secure the speaker. I've tried searches for about an hour using a slew of different search terms but just can't get the right word for them! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'd rather not butcher the original speaker housing to screw in these new speakers if I can help it, like to keep things as original as possible.
  3. I recently purchased a 1989 mk2 Polo, and the previous owner had upgraded the sound system. While I do appreciate the sound, the old rear speaker brackets for the 4x6's that the seat belts go through have been partially destroyed. I can't seem to find any replacements online, but I'd really like to put those back as the rear panel isn't held in place very well. Does anyone know where to get these or have some going spare from their own changes? Any help would be appreciated.
