Hi all, I have a mk 4 2008 polo with an RCD 200 radio and i have an aux adapter to go in. I have put it in the cd changer plug as directed but i dont know what to do next. My uncle said that he has to double click the cd button to change to the cd changer option in his golf, which when he does it comes up with no cd changer, but mine doesnt come up with anything, just normal CD. I have read i might need this activated? If so how do i go around this ? Any other tips would be much appreciated :) Tia
Hi guys, I thought this might be the right category to ask this question. I just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with these RCD210 Aux adapters. I found this article https://everythingautomotivediy.wordpress.com/diy-install-aux-in-cable-for-volkswagen-rcd-210/ but I wasn't sure if the adapter its self is any good or if it's just a waste of time/money. I would retrofit an RCD510 but that costs £££ and I'm not to keen on aftermarket stereos. Thanks
I recently purchased a kit which comes with an Aux and USB socket and a Quadlock plug on the other end. This is a straight 'dumb' cable without any added electronics. I have an RCD 200 radio and am trying to enable the auxiliary input to plug in an iPod. I'm not sure if this radio can take the USB connector, but should take the straight Aux. I enabled the CD changer using VAG COM and now the if you press the CD button twice it displays 'No CD Changer' (before it did nothing). Questions I have:- 1) Can I use a straight 'dumb' cable or do I require any electronics to trick the radio into thinking it has a CD Changer plugged in? 2) If I can use the straight cable, can somebody provide me with the correct pin-out to use? 3) If it requires electronics, can somebody provide me with a circuit diagram so I can add this to my cable? 4) Is it possible to interface the USB plug to this radio? 5) If I can't use the USB plug with the radio, I'd like to make it into a USB charging socket. Can I take a supply from anywhere in the car/radio to do this or do I need an additional 12v to 5v power converter? Thanks for your help
Hi there, I'm just looking for a bit of help with a 9n3 I have recently acquired. I am a big fan of the 'original' look and ideally want to leave the original head unit in (RCD 200 6Q0035152E) and the stock speakers aren't to shabby! But I want to fit the active sub I have sitting about and also look for anyway a 3.5mm aux can be fitted to the unit. I am not a whizz when it comes to the electronics on cars, but am keen and willing to learn! If anyone can help me with this, provide pictures on what to expect when I pull out the head unit, has any wiring diagrams, or any experience of fitting similar components to a standard head unit - your help would be greatly appreciated! Dan.
