  1. Hi guys, I hope this is the right place I have a polo 6r 2010 and the bonnet cable has been stiff for a while now but recently the handle broke and the cable snapped at the end. I now cannot get the bonnet open in order to change the cable. I was quoted 220 for the garage to fix so I thought I'd rather do it myself as I've done most small jobs before and I can't afford that. Please can anyone help? The remnants of the car are in the pic.
  2. Hello again. Yet more lemony goodness from my pile of bolts I have the errors mentioned i have an aua engined 6n2 and have checked my 02 sensord and map and they are working. Soneone suggested to check the vacuum hoses and clean out the egr. Can anyone point me where to start. No idea where the vacuum hoses are and how to remove the egr. Is there a knack or an order to removing? Any help or suggestions would be awesome as im at my wits end. Oh and the ecm light came on too
  3. As the title suggests my 9n3 gti windows both stopped working a while back and i want to get them fixed before i sell the car. I've checked all the window fuses, bought a new drivers switch and even had the father-in-law (who's an electrician) to have a look but still cant get them working. Anyone have any ideas or possibly a wiring diagram for this? I'm really reluctant to take it into VW and pay the £68+VAT they want just to diagnose it. Cheers
  4. Hi Guys, Last night, all of a sudden my gear change got very sloppy, I will try to explain it for you all. If the car is in gear, i can free'ly move the lever back and forth around 3-4 inches, it does not move sideways. When I looked under the gaitor, I notice a large white plastic mould where the stick is attached, this is on a slider so I presume it is meant to move. Is anyone able to help? thanks :)
  5. Hi all, Just a quick question. Below is a video of my clutch pedal in action. (1.03min in you can see what I'm on about) The bracket that I see moving behind it I assume shouldnt be moving and it indicated I have cracked welds? Do I need to replace the pedal box assembly? Thx Paul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmzQXWo6h-E
  6. Hi everyone, I've got a problem with the central locking on my 3 doors 2003 WV Polo. This is what I've observed so far: 1. The driver door can lock all the doors and the boot, but it can only open itself, it won't unlock the passenger door nor the boot. 2. The passenger door can lock/unlock all the doors and boot, except the driver door. Any ideas folks? Many thanks
  7. Hello I have a 1991 Polo Fox Coupe and recently I've been adding a few upgrade parts. Much as I enjoy the spartan feel! Today I got a set of GT clocks from a 1993 and trial fitted the unit this afternoon. Glossing over the usual double-jointed shenanigans required to physically swap the basic standard Fox clocks (Speedo, no trip meter, water temp gauge and fuel gauge and basically thats your lot) I popped the GT clocks in to see what the state of play was. Speedo, digital clock and rev-counter all working fine but the temp gauge and fuel meter were flat out dead. A bit of a jiggle with the connection and the temp gauge came back to life but the Fuel is still flat as a pancake. I know its not a sender issue as the bog-standard Fox unit works fine. The GT clocks have been sat a while since being taken out of a Polish coupe that was driven from Warsaw to Dublin and has been parted by a mate. They could be just broken but the chap I bought them from says they should be cool and I don't have any reason to disbelieve him. As I say its just a trial fit and with the light fading I've left them in place tonight and I'll drive them to college and back tomorrow (there is about a quarter tank in there I know so that will be fine) and blast the heating through the car a bit to warm any dusty connections as I've heard people say sometimes the fuel gauge can be tricky if unused a while and cold. Other than that is there anything I could be trying whilst I'm fiddling about, they'll be in and out this week anyway as the bulbs are all kippered and I want to swap the 33k Fox speedo over - can't live with speedo in just KMs either tbh! Help is appreciated ladies and gents and thanks for any thoughts on the matter.
