  1. I've just fitted a GT Camshaft into my 6n engine, 1.4 8v (APQ) Ive set engine to tdc, removed old cam, placed the GT cam in same position with lobes in same direction. Put on the old 6n pulley and it's 4.5 teeth out with the crank pulley still set to tdc. I've read on old posts this is how it should be when it's placed in, but then it times to half a tooth when turned? A bit confused as what that means.. Do I keep it at 4.5 teeth out? Or turn the cam to half a tooth out of the cam timing mark. Thanks.
  2. Hello thanks for reading, so I have recently bought two GT camshafts to go in my coupe s. I thought I was better off buying the two from different people so I could choose the best to use. Camshaft one, Lobes look in great condition with minimal wear or marks. I can’t feel any surface marks, however the bearing faces have vertical scoring the worst of which is pictured. Currently have the cylinder head off replacing the head gasket, valve stem seals, porting the head, new belt ,water pump and a couple of other small repairs. However since it's off I was looking into some performance cams. It's a long shot but is anybody breaking their 6n2 and has cams or know of anyone with a set, Thanks in advance
  4. Hi all, ive got a 1990 H reg breadvan, its been sitting for a while, started it yesterday to let it charge the battery, just idling for a few minutes, and it started making a loud tappet noise which got louder with the oil fill cap removed , pulled off the cam cover, found some scoring and maybe a flat spot on one of the lobes, some metal shavings were in the oil around the cam and on the dipstick. i put oil directly on the lobes, cover back on and started it, was perfectly normal for about 10 seconds then it rattled again the oil light doesnt come on or any
