  2. So I recently bought this 1.2 3 cylinder on 85k miles about 4 weeks ago. Found out yesterday that the front coilovers are shot. Looks like they've been shot long before I got the car. But still passed it's m.o.t. anyone k ow where I can get an ok set for under £200? I think it has jom coil overs but need replacement ones as the fronts are completely screwed. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated
  3. Hi guys, ive just fitted my new set of coilovers! I replaced my old ones are they was completely siezed. so I’ve got them all fitted and ready to go! I’ve come to adjust the coilovers now to lower the car back to how it was! I’ve dropped it down and the spring has stayed slack As if the shock isn’t allowing the spring to go any lower! What am I missing here! Cheers guys Ryan
  4. Hi guys, My AP suspension recently decided it didn't want to retain the oil in its dampers. I've found the AP's great for comfort and handling seems ok as well. The car is a 9n3 GTI which is my daily but also used on track. Now needing new suspension and wondering what to buy mainly because I've never had any super expensive coilovers. I've been looking at the ST XA's which are a height and damping adjustable set made by KW and they're supposed to be twin tube. I've been wondering if i will actually feel any difference between those and AP's as the car isn't properly set up as such. Alignment is neutral toe at the front, standard caster and -2.5 degrees of camber with my adjustable mounts. rear is totally stock apart from a whiteline rear anti roll bar but i have plans to try out some toe correction shims as these cars run 2.7mm of toe in as standard I think - the correction shims set it to neutral. Damping adjustability seems nice to have since i can mess with it as I please and most probably soften it up for the road. The car is great fun considering the AP's were really a budget coilover. I'd just like to know if you guys reckon i'll feel a difference to justify double the price of the AP's. Is it really a case of just adjusting to whatever suits your needs or is there a 'best fit' that'll be great all round but never optimal for specific tracks. Can appreciate I've not really asked any direct questions but more after some discussion around possible handling improvements and whether just spending more actually will in itself make a difference with minimal messing and or adjustment. PS - Quaife LSD going in the car soon so i imagine that'll make way more of a difference than suspension will.
  5. My drivers side rear shock is shot and was wondering where I could get two rear coilovers for a mk2 polo classic (saloon)? Or would It be possible to get a shock refurbished & if so where? I've got fk automotive g18 coilovers at the rear so far. Thanks in advance :)
  6. Hey there, I'm pretty new here (my first post), but i'm hoping you guys can give me some advice. Lately i bought JOM adjustable coilovers for my polo classic, when it arrived, it was mixed from 6n2 and 6n (the rear one was 6n2, and the front one was the 6n). The rear one fitted perfectly, but i had some problems with the front ones. I realized that Classics from 2000 had the 6n2 strut bearings and silents instead of the 6n ones. Although, somehow it fitted, but I'm curious whether its fine to continue to use this way, or it could result in problems. However, the only problem i was experiencing is that the front doesnt go as low as i wanted (but then i tried how it handles without helpers, and it soothed the bouncyness a bit, and achieved the low i wanted (you can call me an idiot for doing this)). I attached some pictures of what i'm talking about, because my english is awful. The first picture shows how it should look with 6n2 springs.

    I'm getting some coilover for my vw polo 6n but I've been looking and I can't find any for a petrol, I can find them for a diesel and I'm just wondering if they would still fit a petrol even though there for a diesel?

    Wheel ideas for my 6n2

    Hey guys, Just got my 6n2 and i would like some ideas on some good wheel and tire combos i can have to get pretty good lows without tire scrape. i'm getting coilovers soon. my 6n2 is a gun metal grey colour so i think silver wheels could look nice i just don't know what style
  9. I've got a 6N2 and I'm looking to lower her by 60mm, I know there's a lot of makes out there for coilovers, but I'm looking for budget ones, but just wanna know what's the best ones? Help!!
