Hi, I think I may have an issue with the dredged exhaust vales leaking on my Polo 1.2 petrol 9N3, 1ith 186,000 on the clock. I have just completed a compression test and the figures obtained are as follows: Cylinder 1 - 230 & 243 psi Cylinder 2 - 210 & 220 psi Cylinder 3 - 200 & 205 psi I understand that there should be only a 10% difference between the highest and lowest figures and mine has 14% to 17% difference. The engine is running fine with the only ECU error of P0171 lean fuel trim, but only at idle with all sensors
Does anyone know what normal compression should be on the polo 1.4 MPI 8V AUD engine ? I have 3 cylinders around 125PSI and another at 160PSI odd Im aware some engines use this technique of having a higher compression cylinder but it seems very odd ?
