  2. Riding along in my automobile, red Oil light comes on Followed by Battery light Oil light goes off. I stop immediately. Get a tow to the garage Think it's the alternator. Garage call. Engine Ceased, makes bad noise, won't turn over. 2007 57 127,000 1.4 Tdi in very good condition. Engine Rebuild? Engine Replacement? Scrap Car, start again, cut loses. Any input gratefully received.     My friend and i are starting a project to convert my 6n2 1.0 to a 1.4 TDI. I understand its a big job (really don't need another lecture) To cut a long story short, has anyone else done this?. Thanks in advance :p.

  5. Hello everone, my name is Jirka and it am from Czech Republic. I am 19 years old student, at the moment trying to successfully end middle school. I own a 1992 VW Polo 86c Steilheck 1.4 Diesel. I got this car after my mom stopped using it. She got it back in 1997 as a present from my dad as a bigger car for baby (I was born in 1997). Now from the first car I am using only registration and engine. 1,5 year ago I imported from germany the same car but with 1.3 40kw engine. I threw out the engine and then changed it with someone for BBS 6j13. The orginal body was dead totally. This present body is very rusty, but it was only 150€ haha, but it did its work. In the winter someone crashed into my car and gave me around 250€ because of it. So I went again to Germany, but nort-east part this time, and bought crazy german-polish tuned breadvan with 60/40 TA, sebring muffler, 1gen toledo leather seats, fogligts and frontlip from some old VW, also crashed a bit lol for 400€. I also bought genuine GT seats and MK2 steering wheel. At this point I am trying to finish my school and then I can focus to finish swapping to another body. List of evolutions I had: V0: red steilheck FOX 1.4D original donor of engine and plates V1: red steilheck FOX 1.3i current, 150€ body V2: blue coupe CL 1.3i , crashed, no registration or anything, 1.3i, bought it for 60€, just because glove box and centre console, then I gave it for scrap and got about 80€ back lol V3: red steilheck CL 1.4D, bought it for 90€ or so, without registration (VIN cut-out just like V2) took out the engine and good parts. When I will have time i will scrap the rest... V4: red steilheck FOX 1.05i 'tuned' - waiting for swap and ressurection Current specs: 1992 VW Polo 86c Steilheck FOX wannabe GTD EA111 series 1.4 n/a diesel engine pure 36KW Tornado Red LY3D/G2G2 Summer: BBS Mahle 6j13 155/75 Winter: VW Scirocco mkII (i think) ALU 5,5j13 155/75 Nice blaupunkt 1din unit VW Gamma III with AM aux mod, 4 speakers stock look is life GT seats, for now only front doorboards GT, homemade heating, just looking for reasonably priced heating switch for mk3 Golf Mk2 steering wheel homemade immobiliser - who would steal it anyway... decently sprayed black rear indicators very black front indicators girlfriend started to called me ricer and i stopped to like it in the end lol cool 1990s license plates yellow H4 bulbs almost got fined lol V0 V1 V4

    mk2 polo TDI?

    hi all i've decided against the 1.8 20v i currently drive a 2003 TDI lupo but i want more power for that so im going to do a engine swap on that (probably 1.9 pd) just after some advice as i want to get my polo out again and it needs a new engine so i thought why dont i just use the engine ive got and put my tdi lump in the polo has anyone had any experience? any tips? thanks
  7. Evening peeps 👋🏻 I'm a new member on the site but have been searching various posts for the last year or two as a guest. Right, here goes my 1st post. I'm looking to own a Mk2/F Polo Coupé/Breadvan by the end of this year. Not fussed on the engine size for the 1st year or so (1.0 or 1.3). However, as I have a broad imagination, I was wondering wether it's possible to wedge in the Isuzu X15DT engine out of the Corsa B ('93-00). Whenever I come across a diesel swap in the MK2's, it's typically directed towards the 1.9TDI or 1W (not as easy to get hold of in the UK so I was told). Any who, the topic is a little different to the usual tuning of the 1.0-1.3s or the 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 20v and 2.0 swaps. It is an unusual swap but I chose this engine because of its fairly easy tuning ability, the fact they're bullet proof and can handle a lot of boost (to a certain extent) and it's a diesel . The Corsa boys seem to point out that with some tweaks under the bonnet (costs are pretty minimal) the engine can make a Corsa into nippy machine. It's not Golf GTi fast, but Bear in mind they weigh slightly a bit more than a MK2 and they take off. This could lead into a potential sleeper build if possible. I don't want to tune the original engine as its only gonna be my workhorse till I get fully used to the car. Also quick reminder, I've only done about 7-8 months of mechanic experience (not a lot by a long shot) in 2013. I then changed career paths, so depending how well my brain can remember stuff, it'll take a while to get used to certain terminology. But I'll learn as we go along. So, what does everyone think. Possible sleeper alternative or too bonkers to even comprehend. COMMENT!!!
  8. Hi, My Polo 6n 1.9D is off to the scrap yard when i get around to it.. so if anyone wants any bits off it pretty cheap, just give me a shout and i'll see what i can sort out. It needs to stay on its wheels so i can push it to the end of the lane when it gets collected for scrap so i wont be able to sell any suspension bits unfortunately. The wheels in the pictures are no longer on the car so are not available unfortunately. So body wise it has: good bootlid (although i'm assuming it has holes in the top where the spoiler is attached and probably scuffed underneath) bonnet rear bumper (but valance has been dented since pictures were taken) drivers side door (i think the passenger door is a little bent at the top) front 16v bumper with all grills, faded splitter and fog lights however it was cracked when i got it on the left corner (as you look at the front of the car) and i didnt do a great repair so it will need fibreglassing. Spoiler with working 3rd brake light in good condition (not sure on what make this is) Front grill (paintwork kinda messy) good headlights good clear front indicators good side mirrors with fully working electrics The front wings are rotten. Engine, gearbox and clutch are sound and have done 84k, but if you want either of these you'll have to come and remove it with me as i don't have the correct equipment. Engine has never used a drop of oil or coolant. Injection pump is good. radiator is recent. Interior wise its got 16v seats and door cards (drivers seat has the usual damaged foam support behind the cloth and 1 fag burn on the rear bench but otherwise are in good nick. oh and the rear door cards have holes in that i made for screwing speakers to. has a seat arosa centre console which has the 2 cup holders in front of the gearstick which was a great addition and quite hard to find down my local scrappy. 6n2 steering wheel If anyone wants anything just give me a shout. i will price cheapish and you can collect or maybe i can sort out a courier for some things.   9. Hi, I have got a polo engine which is doing 35mpg and as you will know these engines do 50 plus mpg. it is a 1.9 sdi diesel engine engine code is AEF Anybody have any ideas why the mpg is so bad ?? Thanks

    I'm getting some coilover for my vw polo 6n but I've been looking and I can't find any for a petrol, I can find them for a diesel and I'm just wondering if they would still fit a petrol even though there for a diesel?

    Polo Estate 1.9SDI

    Evening all... So, on the death of my breadvans gearbox which decided to destroy itself, i've decided that I'll get me a nice sensible diesel as a daily while I get the bready back in the workshop for a rebuild. So heres what I got, a 2001 Polo Estate. I guess its classed as a 6n2 even though its basically the same as the 6n estase, although neither of which really look like a 6n OR a 6n2.... Whatever. ANYWAY.... It appears that the previous owner might have been a soap dodger, so, after driving it a couple of hundred mines home with my tshirt over my nose and the windows open, I arrived home scraped a good amount of the filth off...Heres what I found underneath! Incase anyone wants to know, it cost £1000 and was at just under 75k, which I didn't mind paying given that you can find ones with twice the mileage for over a grand. Stupid really. also its the SDI so its REALLY GODDAMN ECONOMICAL. Not that quick, but I'm never in too much of a hurry to get to work on early mornings anyway, so that suits me just dandy. The previous owner debadged it too, although rather than removing the carefully, they appear to have opted for donning a suit of armour, climbing on the back on a horse, and jousting them off... Needless to say, they done a shit job. I found these mk2 badges lying about, and put them on in a vain attempt to cover the gouged paint. Decided they were shit and pulled them off a few days later. Picked up some Golf MK2 GTI steels for £20 and whacked them on. Also put on some pressed metal plates. Standard. Fitted some coilovers a bit later on, I discovered that a few weeks after buying the car that the shocks were fubar so it handled SHOCKINGLY! Anyways, these coilovers were just over £200 and did the job, so we got nice and slow and stiffened things up a lot! Anyone who's ever tried to slam a 1.9sdi will know that the sump sits a good deal lower than the subframe, so to avoid battering it on the ground for now I've left it a LITTLE higher at the front untill I can do a little engine lift or grab a shallow sump! Picked up these G60 steels as i decided it to opt for 15's and a slightly lower profile tyre than on the 14" steels pictured above. I spent a LOT of time here... ...being ill-equiped. Gave away the 14" steels, so I decided to pillage these nice scalas of my mrs' polo. Also, the keen eyed readers here will see that I pulled the bump strips off the doors too! they'd clearly fallen off before at some point and the previous owner (in their infinate wisdom) decided to stick them back with what appeared to be airfix model glue. NICE WORK. ...MORE painting happened... AND TYRES!... Went with these Nankang NS1 195/45/15 cuz I'm a massive cheapskate. I've heard people giving Nankang a load of shit, but to be honest, they're decent enough! Lets face it, if you corner too hard or fast, it doesn't matter what tyres you have, you're still in trouble. So rather than spend a fortune on tyres, that may or maynot grip any better, I decided to opt for the 'sensible priced tyres and not driving like a dick' approach. So far, it works just fine! Lovely! So heres where we're at now... I can't help but feel bothered by a few bits in the paint where that laquer has peeled so i might sort them at some point, but lets face it, probably not. As my daily, I guess it'll get a bit battered anyway. I quite like it anyway, you dont seem to see too many modded polo estates about so i've enjoyed doing something a little different! =] Any suggestions/comments are always welcome!     Hi, I'll be buying a 2009 9N3 Polo with 53k on the clock this weekend, If I don't see a cambelt change on the service history, when should this be done? I managed to get quite a bit of money off and it's a beaut so it's worth it. How much would I be looking at for a new cambelt and water pump? Thanks.

I am a new member on club polo and was interested to see what people had done with my shape polo, 59 plate 5 door 1.6tdi 6r After some browsing on the internet i found....http://www.more-bhp.com/polo/vw-polo-16-tdi-cr-75-ecu-remap.html Now they claim: BHP Before: 75 BHP After: 145 NM Torque Before: 195 NM Torque After: 320 This seems an almost unreal jump...but if anyone has had one done or knows anyone with one please give your opinions Thanks everyone

Hello, Hi, Picked up a Y reg 6n2 Diesel for £400 the other day, it was cheap because nothing works on it, cat c and 5 owners I was looking at the fusebox and noticed that the fuse hole for the electric roof is missing (35 IIRC) and when I went to replace it there is no clamps for the fuse legs to be attached to like what 37 has.. any ideas? Am I right in thinking that this fuse box is from a lower spec model or am I way off??????? Please Help

    Tom's Leon FR550 170PD TDI

    After a long while away from VAG cars my ST has gone and I'm finally back with a Seat Leon FR550 TDI collected last night, its due a good clean inside and polish outside but other then that it's pretty spot on.
