  1. The boot lock on my 6n (central locking removed) has stopped working properly. I can now only unlock the door by turning the key slightly to the right then back again and pulling it out. Previously I would turn halfway to the left and that was it’s normal unlocked state. Can get by like this but obviously not ideal and it doesn’t feel particularly good. Anyone else had this problem and what did you do to fix? Thanks
  2. Needed to replace the window motor and when I took the door card off, the inner foam panel has been wrecked. Does anyone know if you can get these new ? or a good substitute?replacement ?
  3. Hello everyone, I bought a 2000 VW Polo 6N2 last October as a car to use during the winter so I didn't have to use the motorbike. When I bought it there was no lock cylinder in the driver's side door, so I've never been able to lock it. Now i'm thinking about selling it and would like to sort the locks out. This is where it gets confusing. I bought a pair of cylinders c/w keys, paddles and springs thinking that would sort it (1st image). I also bought a lock repair kit just in case any bits were missing (2nd image). I then took the passenger's side door handle off to check whether the lock cylinder was the same as the one I had bought. It turns out they are different (3rd image). Were there 2 types of locks fitted to these cars or am I missing something here? I can find loads of repair kits on eBay etc. to repair the type of lock that I have but I can't find the lock cylinder itself anywhere. I don't think the hook type shown in the 1st image will fit as there are lugs missing and the part where the key goes in appears to be smaller in diameter. I don't want to spend a fortune as the car isn't worth a huge amount but I'd like to get it sorted for the next owner if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Mark
  4. Hi I have an issue where my nearside front door won't open I can't put the key in as it won't turn either way to unlock/lock it either, it is just stuck locked any help would be appreciated thanks

    My Red 6n2 Build Thread?

Hi everyone! My name is Alex and im new to club polo, i drive a flash red 5 door 6n2 polo and i love it! ive had the car for a while now and have started to do some modifications to get it how i want it to look, i am on a student budget so coilovers will have to wait until i can save up - anyway, here is my build thread so far! So the little polo had been sat for years in a bush with a broken gearbox and plants growing all over it, until i came along and with help from friends and family we got her a new box and got her on the road. This is her stock on standard steelies - such a pretty little machine! First thing i new i wanted was wheels, so my dad got in touch with a mate and managed to get me some BBS RAs - from a mk2 golf gti! Then i decided to paint a few things. First i did my front grill black to make it stand out a bit more - i also painted my front splitter red to make the bumper look a bit smoother, what a difference that made! i got a hold of some new door speakers for free so i installed those with new grates - they sound way better than my standard ones i thought my front end could do with an added touch so i took the 16v badge from my engine cover and glued it to my grill - looking good! also got a guy on facebook to photoshop my car slammed! Its gonna look so good! hopefully i will remember to upload some more photos as the build progresses! Or simply follow me on instagram @alex.6n2 ??

    Passenger Side Door

Hi Guys I recently smacked my 9n2 (mk4f) polo into a kerb, bent the front wishbone and steering rack. It also pushed the wheel into the back of the arch, crumpling the quarter panel and damaging the passenger side door. The main question I'm asking here, is the passenger door from the 9n swappable with the door from the 9n2 as I have found one going cheap around the corner from me. Same goes with the quarter panel. Also any other advice and tips appreciated. Thanks Jack
  9. Hi All Thought I would get a second opinion, a while back I noticed that the rear side passenger door was not opening and when I asked our family mechanic he said that it is a common fault on the Polo's. He said it happens when the deadlock does not disengage and then remains "locked". To fix it he said you basically need to rip the door of and replace all of the insides costing upwards of £300+ Surely there must be a better way than to have to destroy the current door? I want to fix the couple of issues with it before I sell it but don't obviously want it to cost me a fortune to do so. Thanks

    Phantom Passenger Unlcok

Bit of an odd one, this. I've got a 2007 9N3 5dr, and I love it to bits. It's got central locking (not remote) and everything works great. Mostly. If I lock the doors from the outside of the drivers door, all of the other doors lock fine, that's okay. If I lock the doors from the outside of the passenger door, only the passenger door locks (I believe this is normal but am I correct?). The weird one comes with locking from the inside button. If I press the lock button on the inside of the drivers door (with all the doors closed) each of the four doors lock, but then the passenger door unlocks - and I can't figure why! Any ideas? Thanks!

    Battered 9n

So I'v been snooping around on here for a while, and been making plans for my polo for around the same time (coincidence? :P). Finally decided that maybe starting a build thread would get me motivated! The car: 54 plate 9n twist edition in anthracite grey (according to the stealer anyway) 1.2 engine, all original and standard throughout when bought, no modifications in last 3 years but now I'm in the world of work that's changing! However some work needs doing first, shes done 60k hard miles since I got her, shes an old lady now, needs some TLC Replace O/S/F wing due to rust Touch up paint chips on bonnet Re-furbish alloys Paintwork refreshed/detailed Planned mods: LED footwell lights New head unit Sony WX-GT90BT fitted Re-paint/wrap console + trim Colour code bumpers Roof spoiler Wind deflectors Remote locking (possible remote start)

    MK2F Coupe Trim

Hey, I'm after some of the door trim for a mk2f coupe, the bash strip that goes along the door, and also the arches and badges if anyone's got any, or can point me in the right direction? not fussed on the condition of the badges. any help would be great!
  13. I bought this car not long ago and it's in brill condition other than a couple of interior trim pieces of missing. I need the passenger interior door handle surround and the interior boot panel trim, If anyone knows of anywhere or anyone who has them, please let me know!
  14. Hi can anyone help? I'm trying to remove the rear seatsbin an 04 plate polo 9n2 3 door. I need the seat out to remove the interior side panel to beat out a dent on the rear 1/4 I get the two catches down on the tops of the seats but cannot seem to move the bar at the bottom, am I missing somethibg or is there a technique of getting it out?
