  1. Hi all, just trying to reconnect the EGR system that a mechanic for some reason disconnected. it has been stinking of fuel and running rich ever since so trying to put it right.   2. After a year of driving my first car, the 2001 6n2 polo, I got an engine light which said the egr valve is stuck in the open position. Because its stuck in the open position, I did nothing but I will need to do something before my next mot. As someone whos not bothered to buy a new valve I want to clean it before the mot. So I bought the wynns egr valve cleaner, It says to spray into a turned on engine (preferebly 2000rpm) without the air filter in short bursts. The whole idea is for the chemicals to burn with the petrol to release some chemical fumes that will clean the egr valve

Polo 9n GT tdi 130pd BLT engine 2005 I need to know what egr is needed for this engine and if it’s the one that has the anti shudder valve as I have this plug hanging around and now engine management light on and has been mapped out and that but you can’t map the eml out ... Ps it has a egr delete It I think it’s the wrong one as I think it should have the asv attracted as that’s what the cable is for...... when I did the delete that plug was never plugged in and there was no asv there either
  4. hi can anyone advise me on replacing a bme engine, the only bme engine i can get hold of is the newer one without the egr valve, the engine in the car has an egr, will there be any issues with the ecu running the engine without the egr?
  5. Hi all I was looking for a little advice regarding my 2010 1.6tdi. It's been losing coolant over that last few months, not massive amounts but I'm having to top up from min to max every 500 - 700 miles or so. I've checked the following and can confirm: No evidence of leak on the drive No steam from exhaust No rough idle No sweet smells in the cabin No contamination of oil on the cap or dip stick No hiss from coolant tank when engine is cold. I've taken it to a garage for a pressure test and they say they couldn't find any external leaks. They've suggested it's either a head gasket prob
