    1.8T AUM conversion

Yes the age old question of swapping a 1.8t into a polo but not any polo a mk2f polo. What im after is some advice about keeping the original clocks in the polo but running a 1.8t but I’m struggling to work out what I can do for a loom to get it all working correctly, ideally I need the obd port for possible remapping in the future and if the engines running rough. I’ve got both cars next to each other so it should make life easier but I doubt that 😂 It it will probably be easier if I bullet point my answers any advise is welcome Can I run 1.8T (AUM) on it’s own with out the immobiliser? Can I have it push butting start with out needing the key and clocks? Can I use the existing ECU? What driveshafts should I use? What brake setups are best for this? Would it be easier if I got a new pedal box because the AUM is DBW ? Thank you in advance Harley
  2. I need polo people input I don't really know what to do to get more power out of my mk2f currently it has a 1.3 AAV engine, good engine but clap with that SPI unit, so my plan was to get some throttle bodies and run them with Omex or go balls out and buy a AFH put the AVY crank, rods and pistons in it and then run throttle bodies or just get an AVY and just put that in with throttle bodies and maybe change the sump and pick up so it doesn't sit too low because of my subframe?? I don't know what to do, iv already put alot of money into suspension and brakes so that should be all good.
  3. After my engine packed up on my 1985 polo breadvan I've been looking for a new engine that'll fit the original mounts. I'm looking at a 1.3 ADX engine out of a 6n. Has anyone done this or seen it done? and if so how easy would the work be?
  4. Wanting to convert my 1.3 polo to a 1.6 gti engine, would I need a new gearbox or has anyone else used a standard 1.3 box. Also seen a few threads on here for the guide for doin it but a bit confused what air box id use, cheers
  5. Hi everyone I'm sure this had probably been discussed a million times but before I commit to buying an engine was just wondering if the 6n2 gti engine bolts straight into the 6n and any issues with the conversion Cheers Jake

    mk2 polo 1.8t

Hi all haven't posted in a while My polo has been off the road for a while now and I've had big plans but haven't been in a position to carry them out. I have settled on a 1.8t conversion mk4 golf. I'm looking for some help and advice on ideas and tips for the best way about it. Does anyone know which way to put the power down would be ie golf suspension And hubs or polo suspension . I want to add the braking system if that's possible I also want to add power steering either from the golf or someone told me there's a corsa set up which works. I will be making a build thread to go with it and any help ful information wil be appreciated.
  7. Hi all, I have the 1.3 mk2 with 5 speed gear box. With the AFH 1.4 16v, I know i need to mod the front engine mount but can I use my current gearbox? What else would I need to complete the build? ECU? Electric fuel pump? What bike carbs do i need to go with? Thanks in advance Matt
  8. Hi guys Am currently doing a conversion on my 6N2. Have got the engine loom (only engine loom, not bay loom). Have also got ecu, key with chips, immobiliser box etc. Just wondering if any of you guys could shed some light on whether I will get away with just replacing the engine loom and ecu? Or perhaps I need the bay loom also? I know the engine loom have some gefty plugs on it that look fairly universal. Cheers guys!
