    '98 Polo 6n 1.0 L Full Respray

Hello, thought I'd share with Club Polo, me and my dads project of respraying my first car, a 1998 Polo 6N 1.0L. Short story of how it ended up in my ownership... It's one owner from new, an old bloke bought it brand new back in November 98, and ran it till he gave up driving a couple of years ago, and it was salvaged by my dad, as I was basically about to turn 17, I asked him if I could have it, it was either a Polo or 1999 fiesta, I chose the polo because its interior was clean as whistle, basically brand new because of the seat covers. The outside however... it was parked up under a tree for over a year, so there was a serious amount of green which came off the car when it was steam cleaned. I passed my test at the end of January and off I was in my little red polo! 2 months later... I'm pretty sick of the bodywork on the car now, the lacquer was already coming off everywhere, and its just an eye-saw. Dad told me to get prepping the outside, so i roughly sanded most of the car off in a day. drove it around for a bit with the 'rat look'. Now though is where the final preparations are taking place for it to be painted... I say final preparations, turns out the car is obliterated with tiny little dents everywhere as we sand it down, these all have to be filled up of course because my dads a perfectionist and clearly doesn't want to spoil his reputation when I'm a driving around example of his work (he prepares and resprays cars for a living by the way). The original colour of the car is (i believe) 'Flash Red', we're painting it in Alfa Romeo Rosso red, because he has loads left over from painting a Alfa Sprint Veloce. I reckon this will make it look pretty sharp. Today... I fitted FK Automotive Coilovers all round, bought them from a nice bloke called Matt in Lee-on-Solent, also bought some Golf Mk2 GTI 14" Steels from him, tried those out on the car and they look awesome with the car lowered too. That's about as far as we've got at the moment. Will update and include pictures ASAP. Thanks for reading : )
  2. It's been 10 years since my beloved polo gt coupe came off the road and then money went into other hobbies...as they do! Until now when my dad decided he needed the parking space and so i got to work and here she currently stands, bare in mind i've got a couple more small jobs to do but she's pretty much there :)
  3. Right, so I've given myself a project for this spring, and it's to fully rebuild/restore my polo 6N and reveal it on May 24th at Unphased15, I know this is an incredibly close deadline, but I'm determined and will try my best! My First Car! Dark Green 6n2 Build Thread

Been on this site for a while now but never got round to making a thread! so here goes, I'm 17 from Berkshire and this is my first car that i bought back in august 2014! Polo 6n2 1.4 8v in dark green with 88,000 on the clock! bought it for £1,100 and personally i love this colour! so i had to snap it up! few scratches here and there so i used alot of t-cut to get rid of few minor scratches, here is how it looked when i first got it... at the time i was in full time education so only little mods were made, like the steering wheel sticker and GTI Grill After i couple of months i got a little part time job, and ended up spending every penny on the car hahaha so i went ahead and bought some fog lights (witch i actually pinched from the scappy) and ordered some fog light grills and fitted them then i bought some tinting film, made the fog lights yellow then bought a GTI Splitter! also did some other little touches such as a sharan rear badge, dewiper and orange indicators (i've taken off the orange now though) also gave the lights a little bit of a refurb because they were al yellow and horrible thats all for now! i've got some FK coilovers (probably gonna go 80mm-90mm down) and a roof rack that i still need to fit so i'll keep you all updated on that! but I'm on the lookout for a Stubby drivers side wing mirror and some wheels!

    Blue Polo 1.2

17 years old and this is my first car. Will be a lot of trial and error on this car but will try my best. Will upload a better picture of the car later but its in fairly good condition, not great but not terrible. The car is as box standard as you can get hasn't even got central locking but this will all be part of the project. I will be going down or at least trying to be going down the euro route, always open for comments and opinions if its constructive if you don't like it then just don't bother. Only "mod" I've got right now is a active sub, its the twin 12" 1800W edge sub. Did actually install it in my corsa but this car popped up at a brilliant price and couldn't pass it up. Will probably be asking for advice a lot but ohwell, all mods will be installed by myself. Might be fairly large gaps between Jobs as being 17 and working a part time job and full time apprenticeship so not a lot of money or time but yeah...

    my 6n2 1.4 16v

Bought a silver 6n2 last wednesday, found one completely standard which is a bonus. I have loads of plans for this, low and slow is the main idea, needs a good tidy up and MOT sorting before any of that starts though!
