  1. Having problem with fan. After a good run and stationary for about 15mins temp gauge rises and alarm sounds but not all the time. Had it looked at by 2 garages. 1 couldn't find a fault. Other replaced cooling fan sensor and said could be the fan control unit. This has now been replaced also. It's appears its still not working. Any ideas on what to look at next?
  2. Hi guys any information on this would be much appreciated, my 1l polo has been having intermittent problems for a while and now I'm not running it because it's just too annoying having to wait 10-20 minutes to let's it cool off before it runs.... It has been serviced and has had lots of parts put on it such as new leads, a complete new distributor including rotary arm and cap, new coil pack I've drained the cooling system completely and refilled, it's had new temp sensors put on it and I've tested the fan works with a hair grip across the terminals and it runs, have swap out the sensor in the radiator with another one I have which hasn't helped, there are no fuses blown so I am a bit lost with it now. Before I changed the distributor it wouldn't restart straight away but now it fires after cutting out and runs until it cuts out with no warning, my temperature gauge stopped working after swapping out the temp sensors I don't think this is related in any way, the car used to bunny hop a little bit now and again ages ago, it also had a loss of power while driving in gear and cutting out... That's all I can think of currently if I think of anything else I will add it in later! Thanks in advance for any advice, Billy.
  3. Please help! My 2014 Polo 1.4 SE overheats after driving between 10-12 miles. To bring the temperature gauge back to 90 I have to put the fan up to full and the temperature up to full. The heat coming into the car is so hot I have to drive with the windows down to let it out. The VW dealer had it in for its second service last week and the diagnostic check showed no faults, so they couldn't do any warranty repairs. Its now going back next week to have a new water pump fitted. But I'm thinking its something else with em having to operate the fan on full heat and speed to get the gauge back to normal running temperature. I've read on other forums and posts that the fan switch could be at fault. Has anyone experienced the same thing in their Polo? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hi Guys I have just bought a 1.6 GTI 6n2 and when I start the car the fan starts up straight away but its pulses on and off constantly. Even with just the ignition on and also the air conditioning turned off. I have replaced the coolant sensor which I had read could be the issue but that hasn't worked. I might buy a fan control module to see if that does anything but do any of you have any other suggestions? Another issue is with the locks, the car locks with the key fob but doesn't unlock. I have had someone look at recoding it but that was no good. Are the locks electric or run by pressure? Any help would be amazing Katie
  5. Hi, I'm Marcos from Brazil. I have a VW POLO 1.6 Sportline with CLIMAtronic AC. Two weaks ago the fan do not turn off, never. I discovered a problem in the AC command. I cut the #9 wire (maroon/green) and I put a diodo+resistor in serie, by passing, and linked the #9 again. This worked and the fan was turn off. So, if I do not use AC the fan works perfectly: the fan turn on in stage 1, if the temperature is hot. My problem is using AC: if I turn on AC the fan works in stage 2, infinitely. Any ideas? Thanks.
