    Polo Coupe

Hello all, Im looking for my old polo. The reg is L287 SCD. I see it not long has MOT/Tax and would to find it. If anyone knows who owns it now please let me know. Many thanks
  2. Hi I recently noticed that my car appeared to be reving higher than usual sitting while idling my first assumption was a sticky throttle cable as I noticed that if i lifted the accelerator pedal up it went back to its usual rpm however after having a look I'm under the impression that it is electronic rather than cable as there is a plug on the pedal. Has anyone else had the same issue and does anybody know if it would be as simple as changing the sensor that is attached to the pedal? TIA
  3. Hi guys, The inevitable finally happened tonight and one of my exhaust hangers went on the breadvan. The right hand side one snapped clean off near the top so obviously no "hook" part left. Now only the left hanger remains. Anybody had any experience with this happening to them before? What did you do? Would it be best to take to and exhaust shop and get them to weld on new hangers maybe? Thanks, Riley
  4. I’m not wanting to hVe this spoiler thingy on my car, it seems to just be held on by 3m or some glue of some sort and was hoping if removed it would look just like the stock lip on a polo (2nd picture) . If you are is removable will it be relatively simple or is it not worth the time ?
  5. Help Please! I have already changed the locking cylinder in my girlfriend's POLO III (6N1 locking mechanism), but even with the new cilinder I am unable to close the door with key. If I turn the key nothing happens. The dead lock button dos not make any movement. And I do not feel any resistance when I try to lock the car with the key. There is a small plastic "knob" inside the mechanism just after the key cilinder, maybe it is broken as well? Any idea? And when I move the deadlock button connecting rod I hear some kind of clicking/ strange noise. Thank u for your help!
  6. 2006 (06) 1.4 SE 75 VW Polo Was driving down the dual carriageway yesterday when ABS and EH Power Steering warning lights came on, along with handbrake warning light beeping and flashing at me. Speedo also suddenly dropped to 0mph. Pulled over and restarted engine which caused all 3 warning lights to go away, only to reappear 5-10 minutes later mid-driving. This happened 3 times over an hour journey. Engine feels fine when it happens. Wondering if anyone had any ideas what could be going on or has had this combination of warning lights before? Any ideas appreciated as planning a long journey after new year's.. Cheers
  7. Hi, unfortunately my bready has become an annoying illusive siv... I have had an oil leak fairly excessively for a couple months costing copious amounts on oil. I decided after looking and looking that although I had a suspicion of the leak being from either the rocker or head gaskets as had just changed them. So after fully dismantling and re assembling after a deep bay clean and an actual metal coloured engine had appeared I was able to see it was from the rocker cover gasket in the drivers side and closest to front of car corner of the gasket. The rocker cover sits level but does have some movement left right when the top bolts are not tightened down. Is there a position the rocker cover has to be in to properly seal? The gasket is also seemingly slightly big as you can see it on a side of the rocker cover when it moves. Have attached pics to help explain although have a video I cannot attach here of the movement l/r of the rocker I can email etc ? Any help appreciated Thanks a lot George
  8. Hello, new here! It's only my second car so I'm not clued up too much and don't have the space to work on it anyway to have a look. Does this sound like a blowing exhaust in the below video? It's on a 1.0 TSI Polo 6C. Doesn't do it at every start up, but most, also revs are about 1250RPM when it does happen. Sounds purely awful as hell. Otherwise, about 1050RPM when it isn't sounding loud, towards the end of the video it just quietens down as the revs drop after roughly 20 seconds of the start. See link: https://streamable.com/g4q6yu Thank you J
  9. Hi I am fixing my project breadvan and on one of the calipers a spring broke and I dont know what they are called, and I cant find any. Is it necessary? Can i buy it somewhere?
  10. I saw that some people were discussing their golf mk3 builds in here, as well as the polo 6n, and I was trying to figure out which parts I could afford to install on my own car. I've seen some people recommend to put the 1.3 Polo GT camshaft but they're stupid expensive here! so I'd like to ask you lovely people, what upgrades would you consider essential for this engine! sorry for the weird post writing, I'm new into this stuff so i don't have a lot of experience
  11. EDIT: I have a 2020 1.0 TSI 95 SE 5dr I've tried using Google and asking around, but have come up with nothing. I'm trying to source just the one as it's missing on the one side. The closest I've got is on this page: http://www.vwpolo.net/changing_the_bulbs_in_the_tail_light_cluster-413.html where it's referred to as a 'sash fastener', but I can't find anything when I Google that term. For reference, it's behind my rear lights on either side, there's a little flap/door that you can open to access the rear lights. The little plastic hook fits through a hole in the flap and you twist it to lock the door/flap into place. It's not a massive deal, I know, but I'm a bit of perfectionist 😂 I don't know if it's a VW specific part of whether they can be sourced cheaply on eBay or something?
  12. Hi all, I have an early mk2 bready, bought as a non running project, AFH conversion is so close to being finished!. Turns out previous owner fitted the larger tank which has caused handbrake issues. I have sourced a new 36l tank from heritage however I am REALLY struggling to find a fuel sender! I am assuming the sender in the larger tank would be invalid for the 36litre one. Does anyone know where I can get a new or secondhand fuel sender? Thank you!!
