    Single 6x4 speaker

Time Left: 24 days and 20 hours

    • WANTED
    • NEW

Hello! I’m looking to replace the (3 6x4) factory speakers in my mk2. Trying to keep cost down so before I go and by 2 sets of speakers just to have one spare, thought I’d see if anyone else has done the same first? Suppose it could be handy to have a spare if not though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ta!

    In car audio

So we have 2 cars in the family and my tiny run around(Mitsubishi Colt) will see very little rear seat action so have to opportunity to put an amp/sub whatever in the car at some point in the future. I was just hoping for a little discussion about what the best setup might be? After a decent sound, not record breaking quality, bass or volume. I am guessing components in the front? Somewhere around 5" probably just go with whatever standard is for ease. Is it worth getting an amp, I have heard a bit about how an amp can greatly improve quality from some decent speakers? Sub, I could happily build something into the rear foot well on one side. Or have seen 'compact' under seat subs in the past, though don't imagine they are great. Anything else I should consider? 6x9s? I see them as a bit 'jack of all trades' though One of the first bits I'd invest in is a head unit, does it matter which if it's got the features I want? Thanks in advance
  3. Hi might have already been asked but can find it, wanting to swap clocks in my mk2F polo coupe, I currently have the big analogue clock in place of the rev gauge and was wanting to swap this for GT like clocks with rev guage and digital clock, needing to know if there are wiring in place and it's just a plug in or if additional wiring will have to be done. Any help will be appreciated Thanks

    Radio won't turn on

Put new speakers in my 6n2, all worked ok until i turned them up. radio cut off and won't turn on. checked all fuses in fuse box and behind radio as well as two in line fuses. all are ok disconnected the speakers to see if that made a difference, made no difference.. swapped red and yellow wires and it made a sound as if the disc thing was spinning put a cd in it and it took the cd off me but won't play it. thought it might have just been display not working but doesn't work even if i go through the settings as if it was on any ideas cheers, jack
  5. Hi, I got an L Reg mk3 and I love my music. I just wanted to know if anyone has installed rear mids into the rear door cards? Obviously its a custom jobby but my concern is the space and the amount they'll stick out. I'm guessing it would be best to use a shallow speaker but was wondering if anyone else has done the same or has pics of it done, even any advice. Thanks in advance

    Audio setup questions/ideas

So i currently have some parts on order to yet again upgrade my audio system, but because of the current draw and so on i am confused on the best route to take. Heres what i have/should be arriving: 4 x JBL GTO 2000 amplifiers (old but they perform really well and take a beating) 2 x JBL 1000w 12" subs (thought i would give them a go in a dual box) Vibe something something 4" coaxial speakers (currently in my dash but not fond of them) Sony MEX BT3900U Spare decent sized car battery Destroyed old jvc 6x9's (was never my choice) Things i plan on getting: Decent front components and cross-overs Volume/bass controller for the pre outs (can then switch between low bass for general listening and then extreme bass) But yeah, i currently have in my boot 1 gto 2000 and a boss amp powering the rear 6x6's and infinity kappa sub, the amps are mounted to the back of the seat and look horrible but from the 1 gto 2000 and infinity kappa the bass is outstanding anyway. I also decided to add a Mondeo boot carpet because of the 4 layers to 1) stop the sub floating around 2) dampen the sound slightly. The 4 gtp 2000's have the potential to draw 120A Now add my full beam lights + spots 20A and general running gear + stereo maybe another 10-20A So thats 160A potential and the stock alternator only kicks out 55A (i doubt it now) More to the point i'm struggling to think of ways to mount this and have it easily removable and very tidy (latest idea is to make a parcel shelf amp rack) Just wondering if anybody has ideas or recommendations for any of the issues i may face with this. Cheers

    2006 9n3 Radio Help

Hi there, I'm just looking for a bit of help with a 9n3 I have recently acquired. I am a big fan of the 'original' look and ideally want to leave the original head unit in (RCD 200 6Q0035152E) and the stock speakers aren't to shabby! But I want to fit the active sub I have sitting about and also look for anyway a 3.5mm aux can be fitted to the unit. I am not a whizz when it comes to the electronics on cars, but am keen and willing to learn! If anyone can help me with this, provide pictures on what to expect when I pull out the head unit, has any wiring diagrams, or any experience of fitting similar components to a standard head unit - your help would be greatly appreciated! Dan.

First feature of the Mk2 Polo. Looks at adding new headunit, speakers and sill protectors.
