Good evening all, hopefully someone may be able to help me with a problem I have with my daughters 2002 polo 9n? When we brought the car it only came with 1 key (non flip style) the little torch part didn't work so I set about sorting that out, when I opened the black part of the key I noticed that there was no immobiliser chip in it, not too much of an issue straight away but now I have followed the very good instructions from here on adding remote central locking using VW module I have a bit of a problem. The car will start and run fine with the original key (with no chip in it) bu
Hi. I’m building a mk2 polo and I’m thinking of putting a 6n engine in using standard injection. What are my options when it comes to the immobiliser? Will I need to get the standard ecu reprogrammed? I know there is a good thread on engine swaps but can’t seem to find any info on using injection opposed to using bike carbs. any information will be appreciated or links to threads thanks liam
AkosSpekker posted a topic in ICE, Electrical and LightingHello everybody! I swapped my 1.0 AER engine to a 1.6 16V AVY, replaced the engine loom, the ecu, the chip in my keys, and the little receiver around the ignition barrel, (and a lot of other stuff, like pedal box, etc) but I couldn't replace the immo box, because my loom has 6 cables, and the donor car's box has 8. (I have a 98 model, so I have the later wiring) Is there a way to connect the new immo to the car without a professional? Or what should I do? Thank you in advance!
