i have just got my 1989 polo saloon back on the road. it sits rather high on the suspension which makes it look a bit 'old manish'. ive seen pics of these cars with lowered suspension which makes them look far more attractive but i have no idea what is involved in lowering it and how much it might cost. anybody any ideas please?

Hi all, I’ve noticed my 97 6n is handling really poorly on the motorway, seems to be bouncing all over the place, steering really vaguely and blowing around more than it used to and just being a pita to drive. Im on original shocks with 40mm lowering springs so the shocks are probably pretty dead, however My control arm bushes seem pretty bad too but what I want to know is what I should replace first on a limited budget to see the biggest improvement in handling? I’ll sort the rest come mot when I’ve got some cash. cheers!

What’s the best suspension for a 6N2 GTi? Currently it is sat on some coil overs (not sure who’s poss FK as yellow springs..) however the ride is crap. Hard and just crashes and bangs everywhere... whats the best fast road set up? Doesn’t have to be stupidly low but must ride well over country roads at 40-60mph, this is a proper car that’s used not a town crawling show queen... I have seen a set of Spax ones on eBay etc but would like a few views on different options before spending £400+ on all new stuff. ta

Hi there thought I start a build thread from a year ago from when I bought the car. I was 16 what I bought it as a car to learn how to do things on as I had use of a ramp at a local garage as I was a Saturday boy there. I bought it for 200£ with a months on it! I then got a mate at work to list everything that would need doing and there was a fair bit but I took it on. I needed to do starter motor as it was broken and wired up dodgy and a track rod end and new suspension all round which I went for a 60/40 ta technix lowering kit after that a mate done welding to inner and outer both sills w

Hello! I have an 83 Breadvan and looking for the best solution to subtly lowering it. It has 14" immitation g60 wheels and I am pretty sure that any lowing on the rear is going to scrape the arch - centre of tyre sticks slightly further out than the arch. If the front it just lowered (by around 40mm on springs) will it look too top heavy? Does anyone have any other solution or experienced this? Any help welcome and appreciated! Thanks!

Hi guys, ive just fitted my new set of coilovers! I replaced my old ones are they was completely siezed. so I’ve got them all fitted and ready to go! I’ve come to adjust the coilovers now to lower the car back to how it was! I’ve dropped it down and the spring has stayed slack As if the shock isn’t allowing the spring to go any lower! What am I missing here! Cheers guys Ryan

Hey guys, I've got a 6N2 currently sitting on original shocks with 40mm lowering springs atm. Problem is... its not low enough. And it drives like shit. The shocks bottom out on the smallest of speed bumps and then proceed to turn the car into a bouncy castle. I've been weighing up my options of going coilovers or a full suspension kit and have decided that coilovers are too much like hard work from the side of maintenance and setup. Also don't want to have to spend 400 quid on some coilies that i will have to worry about. I like the idea of being able to manually
