SciroccoSteve posted a topic in Polo ChatOk, so I need advice please. I have 2 mark 2 breadvans. One that Ive been running as a modified road car and one that is about to become a stage rally car...... Ive been offered something really cool as a road car and Id need to free up funds to buy it. So I'm looking to sell on the road car but I'm not sure how to go about it. As it stands its a 1.0 breadvan with 4-2-1 Manifold, Full 2 inch Stainless System, Band New old stock Mark 4 Polo Steels, Lowering Shocks and Springs and Fully Polybushed at the front. Now I'm happy to sell it as it stands but I am wondering weather Id be better returning it to original as I have the parts to do it and then sell off/keep the other stuff. The Car is tidy and has 10 months MOT it drives well but the interior is standard grey and a little worn and there is some areas of surface rot on the body. Thoughts Please!
Well, I posted a while ago that I was having problems with the fuel gauge on my mark 2 bready...... one day it started reading full pretty much all the time and it would drop with fuel usage eventually to half..... Then annoyingly run out of fuel lol. Well I finally got round to trying to sort it and having taken the sender from the tank, I tested it at various levels and it works fine! Accurate to a tee infact..... Gauge on the dash works as well so I was a little puzzled. I figured that maybe something had dropped into the tank and was stopping the sender dropping all the way but as best as I can tell there was nothing in there that shouldnt be...... So I lifted the car and had a nosey at the fuel tank which it appears has a big problem, it looks as though it has been sucked in! It appears its pressurised and literally sucked itself in meaning I now have a much smaller tank than I should. Around the time this problem started there was what can only be described as a whooopm noise occasionally from the rear of the car, Im fairly convinced this was the tank pressurising and sucking in on itself. I checked exhaust, rear suspension at the time and could find nothing so this would explain...... anyway how do I fix it, how do I stop it happening and why has it happened!!
The Fuel gauge on my mark 2 Bready has decided to play up. It has been working fine and accurately, however I filled the car up recently (Brimmed it) and noticed it seemed to be doing very well on fuel, well the gauge has moved to half full and then she ran out of fuel! I have tried letting settle with just putting £10 in her, then filled but no luck. Any thoughts? I thinking maybe the sender is jammed in the tank?
