Hello, I've just come across a typical mistake of snapping the rocker cover/cam cover bolts which seem to be pretty weak on a mk2 polo, I have already got the thread out, but now have a problem of finding a replacement bolt for it, if anyone might have any lying around I would appreciate you'd send it out to me (I only need one) and I will pay for expenses of posting. Thanks
Hi People, I'm 33 Married with kids and a mortgage but when opportunity arose to purchase a breadvan from 1989 (same year as my first car which was also a mk2 polo) I jumped at chance. It runs and drives but isn't gunna win any beauty pageants. Got it with long term intentions, never gunna be a show car, more like a rat rod but if I can make some improvements (in my eyes) and relive my youth and have some fun doing it then why the hell not. Cleared the garage to make space and will spend as much free time as I can tinkering. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch but will give it a go and would appreciate any advice and help from you lot.
Hey guys. So I've got a mk2 bready with the 1.05 hz in it. I'm having problems where the car will run fine for a while then cough and die under acceleration, with an occasional cloud of smoke . It's been sitting for a while so I'm wondering if It's just bad gas or a carb problem . I've had the crankcase breather replaced as i was getting alot of oil in the air cleaner. It also doesn't idle very well until it warms, again leading me to believe it's a carb problem. Any suggestions would be amazing.
