Firstly apologies for the new thread but it seems I'm unable to edit the original one and the subject line says "N/M. Sorted" so little chance of replies in there... I asked yesterday about the little green cap as shown in the attached pic however I have since identified this at item 25 from the following diagram: https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/polo+derby+vento-ind/po/1997-158/1/129-129021/ However, after further testing today I notice the air leak is actually coming from the other end of this hose which appears to be snapped off from somewhere. Looking at the air filter diagram I see that this leads to the only part that isn't numbered. Grrrr! So I'm at a loss to identify where this belongs and where the other end is. Can I simply plug it up with another cap? TIA
PoloMM posted a topic in ICE, Electrical and LightingI notice the battery light on my Polo 6N 1.0 has come on. The battery is at 12.94v however the alternator is only putting our 12.1v. I should point out the 12.1v is at idle and I'm not sure what this jumps to (if anything) at higher revs (will check when I'm home tonight). The timing couldn't be worse as I need to take it 30 miles on Monday for an inspection. No time therefore to replace the alternator. My questions are as follows: a) is the 12.1 at idle an issue (although as I said, I can confirm if it jumps at higher revs myself tonight) b) assuming it is an issue would I be out of my mind attempting a 60 mile round trip in it? That said, I have another battery I could take for the return trip. It's a bit of a faff though replacing this on the motorway.
