  1. I currently have mk2f polo coupe with a 1043cc 4 speed and im looking to upgrade to a different engine and looking for advice and which to go for 14 afh, 13 gt, 14 8v etc appreciate the help cheers

    Vivian the Cadbury Wagen

    Specs when I bought it: Mk2f 1l coupe, mk1 fk coilovers on the rear with standard suspension up front. Carre Astro 13” 6.5j alloys and a good few layers of wizard purple emulsion. Bought this Monster last September for £600 and nearly another 100 on bits since. Since then i've got some second hand 40mm lowering springs and some shorter shocks of fleabay to even out the lows. New strut mounts and ARB blocks as prescribed by the doctor. While taking it apart for this I noticed a wheel bearing had gone so when that came back in the garage and put it all back together about lunchtime today. Plans for this car are to get rid of the tacky stickers I spaffed on the wing mirrors and get some black spray paint out. I'm thinking the Bonnet is a good place to get creative and possibly get some wheel arch extensions. Don't want to start messing about with the engine just yet. Also got some half leather Porsche Tombstones which should be going in this weekend. Now I know this won't be everyone's cup of tea but please no questions about the colour, people seem to think I don't want a bright purple car. Any other feedback or advise is greatly appreciated! So far I've only been driving her round the countryside with el Pappio in the passenger seat bricking it the whole time but with luck i'll be on the road in a couple weeks so thought I should get her out there.
  4. Hi can someone help; how to remove/ replace aerial on MK2f polo coupe (old model; bonnet aerial)? The aerial on my Mk2f has snapped and I need to put a new one in. Thanks
  5. Hi, I've just been out checking the distributor cap/ ignition leads etc prior to a replacement. Went to remove the Rotor Arm, and it is literally stuck right in there. Its original from factory, so never been removed before. Haynes manual says just pull it off. Read on other forums that on Golfs/ Corrados from same era, that they are sometimes glued on. Is this the case with the Mk2f polo's (1991)? And how do I go about getting it out. Given it one hell of a pull (but hesitant over applying too much force as I don't want to damage the whole distributor/ ignition coil etc). ...Just wondering on how to get the Rotor Arm out from the engine (and if there's a method if they are glued on?)?
