  1. Hi there. New to the forum and just after some input on the above problem. I drive a 2013 VW Polo 1.2 Match Edition. Last weekend my engine management light came on in my car. While driving home I then noticed my tyre pressure light comes on and 10 minutes later the ESP light comes on. When I got home I checked all tyre pressures, and pressed the reset button in the glovebox leaving just the Engine Management light on. My brother popped round and plugged in a ODB2 reader (think that's what they are called) and it came up with: P0341 - Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1 or Single Sensor. We cleared it and then I drove it and after about 20 minutes it came back on. Following morning I went to work and the ESP light came back on followed by the Tyre Pressure light again. Tyre pressures all checked and all seem fine. I have been getting a knocking noise now and again when driving straight or turning on eneven surfaces - not sure if related. Any ideas what it could be and whether I am in for a hefty bill? Car is on 62k and apart from new disks and new exhaust back in July, has rarely been a problem. Booked into garage on the 3rd of January (using works van for now) but trying to budget for repair and after some horror stories I have read relating to these warning lights....the potential for a new car!
  2. Hello, I am having yet another issue with my 98' Polo Classic (6kv2). A couple of days ago I drove it through town for about an hour (heavy traffic), and stopped in the parking lot. As soon as I go out of the car I see a puddle building under the car. The hose connecting the thermostat housing to the heater core inlet was blown off the heater. (I suspect it happend just as I was parking) Clamp was there, hose did not seem to have any damage. Placed it back on, refilled engine with coolant/water - seems ok now. The question is what caused this in the first place? I've checked the thermostat - seems OK (does not overheat, return radiator hose is hot). In fact both thermostat, housing and temp sensor are brand new (2 weeks old). There does not seem to be milky residue on the engine cap (water in oil). No oil in the expansion tank. No white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. If seems to build a bit of white foam in the expansion tank when I am accelerating and water is pouring on it. Could it be a head-gasket issue? Does this polo series have any pressure release valve in the cooling system? Thank you
