Anyone come across Dergo filters before? I can only find a few images for Fiat 1100 twin choke carb filters, but no company history or other information. The filter element looks like scrunched up wire wool. I'm sure it flows better than paper element. I can imagine it stopping insects and dandelion seeds but not being as effective as K&N oiled cloth or polymer coated Ramair foam to keep roadspray suspended rock-salt, grit, tyre rubber, diesel soot and pothole dirt out. I want a filter that covers the DHLA idle circuit, which trumpets plus foam socks do not. And found some Dergo for Alfa twin carb filters. In a bit of a mess... This is the wire wool construction You can see I'm pushing it out from below with a sheet of Ramair foam. Fitted longer m5 spacers and new m6 studs and nuts. Clean up the cases Should keep carbs clean and shortens the inlet. Can't decide about the vacuum and breather ports. Blank them or use with Y-piece from the breather pod on block?
I need to refurb the standard 6n2 gti wheels that are on my car. I know they are splits to will have to take them apart to do it. Bare with me with this question, I know it might sound stupid but I'd rather sound stupid than try it and muck it up. I would be refurbing the wheels myself so I can't remove the tires. Is it safe to split the rims with tires on still?
Krissi posted a topic in Bodywork, Interior and TrimI have a mark 2 1986 Polo that needs a little bit of love. I would like to have a couple of panels and bumpers replaced, a respray and little bit of rust treatment. I asked a local panel beater who nearly laughed me out of his shop, he couldn't understand why I would keep looking after this little soul and never even bothered to give me a quote...how rude! Do you guys know any old Polo friendly body shops who will help. I am in Putney so anywhere near there would be perfect! Thanks :) Krissi
Right guys, I have a mk2 1.3 1989 bread van. At the moment it has a solex carb, I'm not sure whether this is a standard carb or not, as there's not that much talk about these. I`m thinking about getting this refurbed, mainly because of the poor mpg that I'm getting. About 20-25mpg. But there's always talk about these and the pierburgs being pretty rubbish. So I'm not sure if its worth just trying to get hold of a weber instead. Theres a place near me called carb care which I've heard good things about. Anyway this is what I have
