Tried retracing the loom to see if they came from same place but they dont and i dont have an early mk2 loom to follow back Cheers
  2. So i bought a 53 plate 1.2 Polo (first car) about a week ago and I've noticed that the rev counter and speedo hand things don't light up so it's a bit of a struggle at night. I'm assuming it's not meant to be like that... Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Hi All, I am just wondering if somone can help me please as in a bit of a panic! I have a mk2 polo ranger from 1990 pre facelift, for the past few years its had a tempermental issue with the power feed (I beleive its the live cable from the ignition feed) to the speedo unit as intermittently loose power to the instrument cluster and gauges every now and then it will flicker and mess about, I have pressed all the crimps down in the loom plug to try and make contact to the many cables and its been ok ish for a year but now it will just not work at all now. I am in a bit of a panic as I have mot coming up at end of May! I do still have a working clock, full beam indicator on the cluster but I have lost temp, fuel gauges, handbrake light, oil & indicator lamp. I dont know if there is a supplier of loom plugs or some place I could get one? I have had a look on ebay with no such luck or even if there is something like it that will fit ok? The origional vw part number is: 321971998 Or is there a work around maybe I am open to ideas I dont care what has to be done as long as its working again to be honest. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Kindest Regards, Lewis

  6. Big problem guys! I've just been looking into what sort of effects might come upon my car when i get my new alloys, the alloys I'm planning on getting are these http://caraudiosecurity.com/set-of-4-dare-dr-rs-15-wheels-silver The problem is this http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=155&aspect=55&diameter=13&wheelwidth=6&offset=43&width2=195&aspect2=55&diameter2=15&wheelwidth2=7&offset2=20#content Anybody know anything about speedo calibration? Also, what tyres should i go for on these alloys, i want stretched tyres, but nothing stupid or unsafe. Cheers, Jonny
  7. Captain Frederico

    Speedo and Full Beam problem.

so today I did a solid day of work to get my car back on the road, fitted a whole new exhaust system and I fixed the gear linkage. After this I decided to take her for a spin, whilst doing this I noticed my speedo wasn't working at all any ideas? Also my full beams wont come on, I turn the lights on and click them on they come on but don't stay on its like a slash normally its a pull once they stay on and then pull again to turn off when you have the dipped lights on. I have tried all the fuses and they are fine. Any help would be massively appreciated :) Thanks Captain Frederico
  8. I have a mk2 polo and the instrument lights and left front side light don't work after changing the bulbs and fuse 3, which they are both connected to, but the rear left side light is connected to fuse 3 and that still works. There is also a plug coming off the loom near the fuse box which isn't attached to anything. Would anyone know how to fix this problem because it's driving me nuts! Thanks in advance!
